We really enjoyed the cruise and the Panama Canal transit. The sad part of the adventure was the announcement that Princess was temporarily ceasing operations due to the pandemic. The last few days at sea, following the cancellation of our call at Cartagena, were quite stressful. There were concerns over whether we might be quarantined or get a flight home. Princess and the ships crew did a fantastic job of keeping us advised and happy. In the end we made it home with great memories. We do however wonder how the crew are now getting on now the vessels have been effectively laid up.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
If I could give this zero stars I would! When we arrived at the requested time there was a line round the building. We joined the line and waited for over an hour and a half before we reached the building. The temperature was in the 80s and there was no offer of either an explanation or water. The whole process was totally disorganised and no apology was given once we boarded the ship. Worst embarkation ever!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food on board was a mixed bag. We had anytime club dining and the food was relatively good and hot. The soups were particularly good. The buffet food was unoriginal and the choices uninspiring. On deck Pizzas and hamburgers were very good.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Considering the amount of sea days there was not a lot of activities. The enrichment lectures were very good. Daily trivia quizzes were okay but tended to be US oriented. The progressive trivia was a waste of time as it consisted of ten questions. It took longer to get to the venue!
Entertainment
2 out of 5
There was one excellent production show - Rock Opera. Unfortunately this showed up The other production shows which were really old and needed replacement. We were suppose to have a Magic to Do but this did not happen. The nightly acts were average but repetitive. Each act seemed to do two separate nights in the theatre. (This May be because the had difficulty getting acts to the ship due to Coronavirus) The violinist duo were excellent.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service was excellent. Our cabin attendant Juan Carlos seemed to anticipate our very need and was very helpful.

Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin is a premium suite and is well laid out and very comfortable. Our principal complaint was the noise and vibration coming from the fitness centre above. This was mostly during the day. This cruise had quite a few sea days we were in the cabin a lot and the noise was irritating. Please note there are only two power points in the room - if you are using an adapter this is reduced to one.
Ship tip
Get to the theatre an hour early to ensure getting a seat. On this cruise even the lectures were SRO!
After the dreadful embarkation disembarkation was simple and reasonably quick. Only problem was that no one was directing people to the correct queues in immigration.
So glad you were able to enjoy the passage through the Panama Canal but so sorry for the ending. Just remember we will get through this and through it together as a team.
