From arriving at port and being treat like cattle by staff to contstant over pricing and sales harrasment by Princess staff to buy Spa treatments, jewellery etc, it was not a relaxing experience at all! I got off the ship happy to leave the cruise ship and Princess Emerald. I thought the Captain and crew officers should be asking the customers if everything is ok with thier treatment etc onboard, entertainment , facilities. After speaking to many passengers they were all under the same conclusion that Princess only cares about profits and clients are at the bottom of the list. The captain is only seen rarely at formal evenings and is usherred away by another crew officer hurriedly to avoid questions from passengers. No interaction from crew and staff other than to sell Princess products.
Embarkation

Left out in the rain soaked to the skin. all my luggage soaking wet. Princess are good at asking for money for overinflated excursions, drinks etc but no customer service.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food was often mediocre and tasteless. Onboard drinks packages rreally expensive my cost was around $1,030.00 or around £980.00. You are rarely offered a drinks menus so end up drinking the same thing.
Speakeasy Cigar Lounge

Kiren was very attentive, perfect service thank you. Definitley the best member of staff on the cruise.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Fitness centre adequate, Pools ok, spa hot tubs dont work so you are sat basically in a warm bath. The cruise is really set up for unfit over 60s and people with walking or obesity problems, if your under 60 save your money and go elsewhere.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Very poor entertainment overall unless you enjoy knitting or singing with ships choir or learning to play a Ukelele that you are encouraged to buy at vastly over priced cost. Basically Princess cruises are only any good at cross selling or over pricing items and services.
Children's Programs
no children
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Rooms cleaned regular and acceptable. Waiters in buffet dining very slow at clearing plates and offering refreshments/beverages and cutlery. Sometimes it is impossible to find a dining table and there is no help in ushering you to a free table, so its a free for all. Reception staff speak very poor English and often do not understand what you are saying. Spa staff will constantly harrass you all over the ship at elevators around pool areas and upon entering the Fitness centre to sign up to so called offers, and then if you do opt for example a massage you will probably charged for a facial or haircut etc as did 2 of my travelling companions for example my friend went for a mens haircut which should have cost around 30 dollars and got a bill for 198 dollars which took over a week for the Spa to refund. Another of my companions was charged 298 dollars for a massage and was billed for facial and creams etc that she never asked for she is a lady around 65 with limited finances and learing difficulties. I had to visit the Spa with her to get refunded by Mirela the manager of the Spa who will try and sell you the water in the sea and proclaims that she is not ripping off vunerable clients. I was told by one chap that they were billed $17,000.00 for Spa facial?? I would definitaly not use the Spa as i think they bill you and hope you do not check your stateroom account, please beware!
Ship Quality

Layout was fine and fairly clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Ok but a bit dated. Water left in the room was highly over priced considering you are not allowed to take bottled water on board??
Ship tip
Check your stateroom account daily and take bottled water on otherwise you will be dehydrated in your room. Buy motion sickness tablets etc before you board or you will pay $10 for tablets on the ship. Do not use the Spa or buy from the onboard shops as even with discounts its cheaper on land by a third at least.
Ok but not enough time in Port. Ships excursions over priced by at least 2 thirds of local cost, Princess will tell you that they guarantee to get you back intime to set sail, but so do the local companies, do not be frightened to go to a local tour company.
As above. Do not book the Pear harbour tour its $40 between 4 in a taxi each way and when you get there half the tour is free and free entry you only pay a nominal amount for the other tour, i think its over $150 to book through Princess.
My travelling companions and I enjoyed Ensenada. We visited it found it friendly fairly cheap to eat drink, Silver jewellery is over priced same stuff in the UK or Europe but far cheaper for same quality , be careful when buying.
I feel sorry for you. It must suck being a negative and a chronic complainer. You want cheap go on Carnival, hangout with the drunks and screaming kids. Have fun!!!
We sailed on the Emerald recently. The embarkation was bad but it was mostly due to the terrible weather and delays getting passengers off the ship. The Emerald is in need of refurbishment but overall it was a pleasant atmosphere. The crew staff were always accommodating and greeted us. The MDR food we found to be pretty good and tasty. Great service every night. SHARE specialty restaurant was very good. You’re cruising, someone is waiting on you all the time. Works for me.
You sound like a very negative person who does nothing but complain about everything. I feel sorry for your traveling companions.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of my 15 Princess cruises (including on the Emerald).
