It was a pleasant cruise, but I still haven't decided whether the costs were worth the benefits. You pay extra on Princess because Princess has convinced people they are better. They had better food than almost all the cruises I have been on, and the excursions were nice even if they were way more expensive than other cruise lines. The lack of kids running around was nice, but all of the people who used walkers or wheelchairs (some were faking to get pushed to the front of lines) was almost as bad. I will give serious thought before I book my next cruise as to which line I'll use.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food is really good. They really push selling you specialty restaurants or even food in the buffet and dining room. The first formal night, they actually charged you $29 if you wanted any steak or lobster. But the "free" food was really good both in the dining room and in the buffet. If you buy the soda package, be warned you will be charged for sodas brought to your room. The room service was good food though, but they charge to bring you pizza.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There were some informative talks that I would recommend. Trivia and Bingo was fun. The activities are very geared for a more "mature" group of people. (Over 80% over the passengers were aged over 65)
Entertainment
3 out of 5
If you get to see Justin Gentry or Michael Wilson, congrats. The others weren't worth the time. The ship's entertainers were very average.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
My personal steward wasn't very warm or friendly, but kept the room clean. Bar staff and dining room staff were always pleasant.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Very average. Kinda outdated. Definitely an older ship. Pleasant, but nothing special.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Very average. But the bedding was so comfy. They sell it for $1700. I would never spend that much, but it was nice.
Better than I expected. The bus company that Princess hired to taxi us into town also sold tours for half the price of the ship. Save your money and book through them.
Unless Princess was withholding information about what is complimentary and where you have to pay extra (and I'm sure it's all there on their website) this is another case of bad preparation.
