Princess seems to want to upsell their vacation experience, we drank but not to the extent of the drink package. Any time you wanted something, whether it was in the store or a photo it was another charge. Seems funny that at the start of the cruise the prices in the store were 1 price by the end of the cruise it was almost at clearance prices. Yet the ship was going on another cruise when we left the ship, yes it was to Mexico and not Hawaii but some things where the same.
Embarkation

Torrential rains with wind and it seemed like the Emerald Princess didn't have a back up plan. We waited over 3 hours inside a terminal awaiting to board the ship, while others waited the same 3 hours outside in the rain.

Food and Dining

Crown Grille was the speciality dining room, it was a steak house but only 1 item on the menu was steak the rest were fish and I'm not a fish eater. Ordered my steak as medium rare and it came to me blue rare.
The main dining room we took anytime eating. My other 1/2 showed up to dinner with a nice pair of dressy men's shorts below the knee and was told to put on long pants, yet women were going into dining room with cut off Demin shorts.. Sexual decimation. The buffet was bland, the same menu each day, no variety.

We did do trivia a couple of times a day, and played bingo (expensive).
Casino
5 out of 5
Not enough machines in the non smoking side of the casino. The fun machines were on the non smoking side. Staff was very pleasant and Kash and Kimberly the bingo queen were great.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Some were good and some not so good. didn't have any top name entertainers. The cruise director Mark Cornish was funny.

Cabin / Stateroom

Everything worked as it should, was clean every day when we were out and about through out the ship.
Loved the bus tour around the city and learnt about the history. Was not happy with the Luau through Germains they were upselling their luau, saying if we didn't upgrade our expensive tickets then we might not get fed. More drink tickets, but we don't drink, and got fed before the ones that bought the upgrade.
another bus tour just wished he would of given us more time in old Hilo to finish the shopping 15 minutes just wasn't enough. Someone should of realized that Sunday most shops were closed for church and family time. Not many stores open.
Another great bus tour, stop at an old resort and had a complementary drink, then to a old winery for tasting and still able to shop in their downtown for an hour to get stuff.
