Review summary

This is the first time I cruise with Princess. I have cruised over 100 days with Royal Caribbean and Carnival. I am very disappointed with Emerald Princess. All the staff on board are lack of enthusiasm . They are unprofessional and defensive.   One time I called the Spa about the steam room was out of order for 2 days. she replied she did not know how to fix it. As she already reported it to services department. that is unprofessional, unfriendly and defensive. She should say sorry for the inconvenience, I already asked the maintenance department to fix it. I do not know when it will be fixed but I will be glad to fellow up on it and get back to you. In another occasion, I was told the coin change machine in self laundry room was broken and I had to go up to purchase the coin at customer services desk. I asked them whether they know when the machine will be fixed. He replied with defensive tone again, said due to passengers careless let the door to slam on the machine and cost the problem. later I came across a repairman, he told me the machine is working and if not just bang on it. He did it and made the machine to work. In other words, the customer service guy did not personally clarify with the repairman and just to tell us story to  push us off. I can give much more bad experiences, however the above 2 cases is enough to give you the idea of what i am talking about. Our diner waiters are excellent and they are the only nice worker on board the vessel.

Buffet got limited choices and most of them are same daily. Diner menu is so so and the steak is cooked incorrectly and added gravy on it . It destroyed the true taste of the beef.

The ship is clean but very badly designed , wasted lots space. The worse thing is it is very difficult to walk from one side to another and from places to places. The formal lunch room only got one way to get there and it is at a dead end.

We sell on the Emerald December 2018 to Hawaii with sailed on the ruby to Alaska and loved it can’t wait to sell on the Emerald

So your cruise wasn't ruined by having to go to the front desk for change? SMH. Thanks for the tip on the ribeye, we are eating at the Emerald Crown Grill on our next cruise...

well we got back yesterday, all I can say is the Emerald Princess is a floating 5star hotel. could not have asked for any better of a time. our anniversary dinner was at Share, by Curtis Stone. the staff was attentive and friendly. I had a ribeye steak at the Crown Grill, that was done to perfection. our balcony room gave us the sound of the Sea to sleep by, we want to buy the brand of bed we slept on. I got the drink package, I made that worth while. lol We will be doing another cruise, and Princess will be at the top of our list.

We loved the Emerald and are going to sail on her again in November...I recommend ignoring whiners who look for ever reason to complain... Some people have legitimate reasons to be unhappy but if someone takes a 7 day cruise and concentrates on some insignificant 10 minute item, that should tell you something...

My experience on the Emerald Princess about 18 months ago was totally positive. I am new here and have not written any formal reviews, but I will starting on my next voyage. Keep an open mind and hopefully you have a (positively) memorable cruise.

machines in laundry were broken when I was on the Emerald in January...just went down to cudtomer service and got some....what annoyed me was that all 3 machines were filled with finished loads. Nothing to do with Princess just inconsiderate passengers.

we are going on our first cruise Sunday, with many years in the service industry I know stuff happens. we are excited to have the Emerald Princess to be our first cruise. We will not let a change machine decide our experience.

Dutch3901 is correct. This complainer has made 13 total posts. Out of a total of 65 Stars they gave only 29. That is an average of 2.2 stars. Nothing in this Star System will make them happy. . . I've given this post too much of my brain power. I'm out!!

Careful TOhcruisers, you may be responding to mml4211 in an unprofessional, unfriendly, and defensive manner... all of their ratings are 3/5 stars and 1/5 stars... But the statement is right- the 2 case that was relayed have me and idea of where they were coming from... (just a little over sensitive?)

Interesting... for someone to download an app, claim 100 days at sea with not 1 single day listed to only fault machines that can do breakdown to be offended by the fact that an employee cannot fix the issue and rate the entire cruise a 1 star is very offensive. Very sad. I have had nothing but positive experiences on any cruise.
