Great boat, fantastic crew, good food, excellent dining room staff, some wonderful fellow travellers, shame about the itinerary. Ports of call to Iceland, Belfast and Greenland cancelled allegedly due to weather. Cruise lines should provide ships capable to fulfilling their advertised itineraries. Shame that many of the passengers who had travelled from Australia especially to go to Iceland and Greenland on this cruise missed out. The compensation (credit) from Princess didn't cover the airfares, let alone the other incidentals and warm clothing purchased for the cruise. However, this was better than nothing. We have now outlaid that compensation (credit) on an Alaska Cruisetour in 2014. Princess wins 100%, passengers win 50% but we are looking forward to that trip. Keeping our fingers crossed that some of that tour isn't cancelled as well. After leaving the Emerald Princess on 26 September took a 21 day cruise with Holland America on 28 September. Ships like chalk and cheese. Princess for me any day.

Ship Tip

Ask for the table where Manuel is your head waiter. Best service I have experienced anywhere, including restaurants on land, was from Manuel. I was on table 30 in the Botticelli dining room.
