Great Cruise by Steeeve

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney takes EXCELLENT care of It's customers and facilities. Lots to do, plenty of quiet, private places for over 18 year olds also. The food and drink were good and always available.  The private island,  Castaway Cay was beautiful with lots to do, or not, plenty of lounges. The adult beach was nice, with separate BBQ lunch and tiki bar with small band playing. GORGEOUS crystal clear water, the perfect temperature.

This cruise was everything. This was my first Disney cruise and I have to say I will be back again, the food and entertainment was amazing! Everyday I was wore out! I am so mad that it was only for three days! If you have a family and haven't tried it, I think you should! I am planning my next one as we speak! 9/1/2018 7 days

This is the ABSOLUTE BESTS... by ryancolunga

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

This is the ABSOLUTE BESTS CRUISE SHIP IN THE WORLD!!! The staff was AMAZING, the room was HUGE, there were SOOO MANY activities for every age. We were walking around the ship and everything was, well, Ship Shape. The shape was in AMAZING condition it looked as if we were the first people ever in the ship. Disney certainly isn't the cheapest but it's worth every penny. At dinner, the little girls were addressed to as "Princess". We will never cruise with another Cruise Line other that Disney EVER AGAIN!!!

Whispering Woods Four by Giigii

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My favorite part of the crew was the friendly faces, service and activities.  Would recommend to others.  It wouldwould have been most helpful to know the lay out of there ship, activities and mostly how to get the most from the stateroom: how to use the shower, turn on light, etc.

Disney Cruise 2017 by gakidd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have been on 3 other cruise lines and I can say Disney does it right.   The entire crew was "excellent" in friendliness, helpful, etc.    We did not do any of the adult activities since we had our grandchild with us but look forward to possibly doing another cruise soon.   We loved the young children activity center as well and felt safe to leave her there.

We went on our cruise... by Lianny2424

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

We went on our cruise this past weekend. This is probably by far the cleanest ship I have ever been on. It is very well maintained. We had a balcony stateroom which we were very impressed with, it was big enough for a family of 4. As for the characters on the ship the majority of them are for girls. But my son still loved meeting the few that were for my boys. One of the downfalls is after 9:30pm the ship is a ghost town as most people are already sleeping. So no activities around that time. The only night that was a late night was Pirate night which we absolutely loved. They leave you a bandana in your stateroom for guest in your party to dress as pirates. The show and fireworks on the pool deck was amazing and a lot of fun. A lot of people if the older crowd go all out dressed as pirates. We didn't get off at Nassau since we had already been there a couple of times. But we did get off at Castaway Cay which was very pretty. The kids loves the island in which we were there for about 4 hours. After they wanted to go back to the ship for the water slides, Nemo's Reef, and pools. During the day there is things to do for all ages but at night not really. As for the Food we were very disappointed with the food served at the dining rooms. It was disgusting. Except animators palate which was okay. Other than that we practically lived off cheeseburgers, hotdogs, pizza, and fries from the pool deck. A plus was the unlimited soda machines. That was great. The shows at night were broadway type but none the less amazing. I recommend going to all three showings. Now last but not least the service from the stateroom hostess, head server, server, assistant server and guest services was exceptional. Everybody who works on the ship will try to interact with you or the kids at all times and say hello or goodnight which was a plus. Even though we liked our cruise. We believe its a 1 time thing to do in your life for your kids but we definitely wouldn't go again we felt we didn't get what we paid for on DCL. Which as some of you are aware it is a lot more money. We still prefer traveling with other cruise lines better.

Disney Dream was a dream!!! by TomandPaula

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As first time cruisers and adult concierge guests, we felt that every aspect of our cruise had been thoughtfully anticipated and taken care of by the concierge staff.  Boarding, onboard reservations, excursions, and debarkation were all quickly handled and resulted in a very smooth trip.  We loved how concierge guests have several private areas onboard for sunning, snacking, and drinks.  Dinner at Palos was fine dining at it's best!   Among the three shipboard restaurants (Royal Palace, Animator's Palate, Enchanted Gardens), only the Royal Palace stood out.  The 3 theater shows were Disney extravaganzas.  Fireworks at sea on the 3rd night was a nice surprise.   Regarding excursions, as adults, we wish we had more time to explore Nassau.  Beach activities at Disney's Castaway Cay are countless, and renting an adult cabana at Serenity Bay is certainly worth the price.  As adult concierge travelers, we can't say enough about the onboard concierge staff.  They were professional, personable, and extremely attentive to our every need.  We loved this trip so much that we are currently planning a 7-day with Disney.

I went on this cruise... by pmjc101

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

I went on this cruise with wife and child and we has an amazing time. The highlight of the cruise was the visit to Castaway Cay. The beach was beautiful there are many activities for adults and children. I enjoyed the 5k run the beach and the bike rentals. Pros Great entertainment for the family.. Amazing service from the staff.. I experienced no one smoking onboard.. There are fun water activities on the ship.. Cons Most of the character meeting sessions are for girls.. Aside from mickey minnie donald etc.. there were a lot of princesses (elsa, anna, belle, cinderella, rapunzel, tiana, etc) but no marvels characters which Disney now owns.. The food was ok but did not stand out when compared to competitors... They needed to add newer charachters to meet and greets like Moana and Maui... The wait for the Aqua Duck waterslide can be long up to 60min. I believe that could make things faster by adding another raft but it could be for safety reasons.. I enjoyed my time on this ship and would book again if i could.

Awesome cruise, kids and parents loved it by 4bella

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was an overall a great cruise and a perfect choice to take a vacation from a vacation.  We had spent 5 days prior to the cruise in Disney parks that could be somewhat tiring in the hot weather and standing in the long lines.  The kids loved the cruise, the room, the shows, the pools, the characters, the food, this was a perfect cruise tailored for kids.  Adults got some relaxing as well, when the kids went to the ocenaire's club.  All and all it was an excellent vacation.

Bella.

Our first Disney Cruise and... by jcronin3175

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

Our first Disney Cruise and it was on the Dream. Couldn't be happier with the ship, its crew, or its food. Yes, it is expensive but completely worth every cent spent on it! 1 downfall is the showers... now, I was not expecting huge ones, as it is a cruise ship, but I am 6'4", and could not stand up straight in the shower. My head was literally at a 90 degree angle (husband has photo proof!! LOL!!). again, I am over 6 foot, so it happens I suppose. But if that's the worst thing, I will take it!!! Can't wait to go again!!!!

Just off the 4 night... by chale151

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

Just off the 4 night Disney Dream. Good time was had by all and definitely geared towards kids. Ours had a ball even at the ages of 12, 14 and 17. They enjoyed the clubs and counselors. This was our first Disney cruise and expectations were met. Wished they kept the buffet open pass 2:30 though as food choices were limited to hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza. That was my only complaint. Ship was clean and inviting and employees were great and polite. We would not take Disney again, but parents of children should take this at least once. The expense is not worth it to us with older kids who want more to do.

Cruise with Hubby only by mousebren

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Just the nice  atmosphere. Being placed at a dinner table with two other adults our age. It was a great cruise. Only complaint is the person at the information desk did not give us a list of all of the alcoholic tastings. We signed up for two and he lead us to believe there were only three and one was filled. We (husband and I) are retired police officers.  We would not have gotten drunk from the different tastings but it would have been nice to know more choices. We found out about the choices at the bar the last night we were there on the cruise.

Everyone on the cruise were excellent. We enjoyed the cruise very much. It was my fourth Disney cruise and we will always recommend the Disney cruise to our friends. Happy

Fourth time on the Dream and the best yet! No comparison for a cruise with children with any other line. Everything amazing, from start to finish. Cannot say enough and cannot wait to take the grandchildren again.

Before we get started, I... by LaurDIY

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

Before we get started, I want to tell you all 4 night cruises on Disney are just to short, We tried Disney Fantasy and that's just the real cruise that's out on my opinion. Besides that I'm American, I speak German and French, whatever language you speak, you might find someone that might speak the language you speak besides English. The ship was very clean, our cleaner was very nice and spent time on each room, our dinner server/waiter was outstanding and funny every night he'd come out with a joke for kids and adults, I never sent back a plate with food on it, every plate I got I finished. The storage in the rooms were great, I would bring extra clothes hangers because each closet has 3-4 hangers. I wanted to share a life hack, on Disney Cruise Line they do not allow Clothes irons, so you can use a hair straightener to iron ur clothes. I would for sure sail on Disney rather than Carnival, Celebirty or RC or any other cruise lines.

Average compared to other lines by DaddyB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our fifth cruise overall, but first with Disney.  I have to say that the food and service was comparable to other cruise lines, not a significant improvement though.  The shows were more geared towards children, but this was to be expected.  It was also our first experience with any seasickness, as the waters between Port Canaveral and Bahamas was pretty rough.

Be prepared to be seated with another family at dinner, in our case a table of 8 altogether.  I never saw this on any other review nor in any of the information we got from Disney, so it came as a surprise.  It was not a huge deal for me, but we prefer to have a little bit of privacy during dinner.

Overall it was fine, but it didn't justify being twice the price of a comparable cruise on Carnival.
