Review summary

As first time cruisers and adult concierge guests, we felt that every aspect of our cruise had been thoughtfully anticipated and taken care of by the concierge staff.  Boarding, onboard reservations, excursions, and debarkation were all quickly handled and resulted in a very smooth trip.  We loved how concierge guests have several private areas onboard for sunning, snacking, and drinks.  Dinner at Palos was fine dining at it's best!   Among the three shipboard restaurants (Royal Palace, Animator's Palate, Enchanted Gardens), only the Royal Palace stood out.  The 3 theater shows were Disney extravaganzas.  Fireworks at sea on the 3rd night was a nice surprise.   Regarding excursions, as adults, we wish we had more time to explore Nassau.  Beach activities at Disney's Castaway Cay are countless, and renting an adult cabana at Serenity Bay is certainly worth the price.  As adult concierge travelers, we can't say enough about the onboard concierge staff.  They were professional, personable, and extremely attentive to our every need.  We loved this trip so much that we are currently planning a 7-day with Disney.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Palos restaurant was exceptional - delicious and professionally served! The Royal Palace's food was good. Animator's Palate was loud, great for kids.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Not many adult only activities onboard, though we did like the sections set aside for concierge and adult guests. Plenty of "elbow" room everywhere. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard and using the adult jacuzzi.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Disney theater productions were professional, as expected. They were for general audiences. As adult cruisers, we wish Disney had at least one adult Mystery show or some other adult production - say, at 10:00 pm. in one of the theaters.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Hey it's Disney! Disney "does" kids better than anyone. Whether onboard or ashore, it doesn't matter. It's Disney!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Tracy, Danny, and Angeline made up our exceptional concierge staff. Joey was extremely helpful in serving us in the concierge lounge. Did not meet one grumpy onboard staff member. I guest Snow White left him onshore!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Disney Dream is a relatively new ship and it showed. All common and private areas are clean and spotless. This elevated the experience!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room had plenty of room for a couple. The bed was very comfortable. Our particular cabin had an extended veranda on the starboard side of the ship which made it the perfect location to see the fireworks at sea.

Ship tip

If you travel as a concierge guest, no need to bring suntan lotion. This is provided by concierge staff. Sodas, water, and snacks are available 7 am. - 10:00 pm. in the concierge lounge. All beverages, and I mean "ALL", are free in the lounge between 5 - 10:00 pm.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

Graycliff wine tasting and lunch was great, but we didn't have time to see much else in Nassau. Main shopping street off pier appears to be a typical tourist traps.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

3 out of 5
For adult travelers, we would highly recommend renting a cabana, either at the adult beach, Serenity Bay, or at the main family friendly beach.
