This seven day cruise to Mexico is always a nice getaway particularly for west coast people.
We are questioning whether we will sail with Princess again.

Excellent.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Nightly "theme" dinners catered mostly to fringe tastes with lots of spices and ethnic foods. Portions were small. Except for one night there was a $10 upcharge for steak. Pads of butter were the size of marbles and you only got three unless you asked for more. The gravy was the same on all the dishes. If you asked for ketchup they brought a Heinz squirt bottle to you table. There were so many attempts at cost cutting that it made the whole dining room experience lacking.
The buffet on the 16th floor is laid out as bad as any ship I've been on. Too many "streets" that you had to go in and out of to find food. Like a scavenger hunt every time. Buffet food was either bland or too spicy.
Sabattini's Italian specialty restaurant was great food and service. It should be for $40 per person upcharge.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
This ship has 2 pickleball courts and specific times were scheduled each day for their use. Lots of things going on all day for all kinds of interests.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Production shows have cut way back from past years. One night wasn't even a live show. It was televised on a screen in the theater! Musicians in the lounges and common areas throughout the ship were very good.
Children's Programs
Didn't bring children along.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The service was generally good, but most did not seem to be enjoying their job. Our cabin steward was outstanding.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is only a year old. It is very nice in every way except the layout of the buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice decor. Very comfortable beds. Excellently maintained.
Ship tip
The food is marginal and I have been on 59 cruises to compare it to.
Great place to visit no matter how many times you have been there. Be sure to explore the marina area as well as downtown if you have time. Great restaurants there. NIce atmoshere.
Nightly themed dinners with lots of spices and flavors. Sounds delicious. There is never a $10 up charge for the steaks on the MDR menu. You must have misread it. There is a $10 charge for extra lobster tails. The first one is free. You can also get a filet from the specialty steakhouse delivered to your MDR table for $19.
