Review summary

It was a relaxing cruise as we had been to all those ports before and we just wanted to see the new ship which was nice but a bit disappointed with services onboard because we expected more from Princess than other cruise lines.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze. So easy and quick. Just walk right through with medallion and passport.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet food was good with lots of choices. I was a bit disappointed with the dining room service. First dinner was a long wait for service and food in the Skagway dining room. The reserved time for dinner doesn’t mean you can get in at the reserved time because you still have to wait in the reserved line when you get there. That’s a pretty bad system when the reserved line gets longer than the unreserved line.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not much going on except the usual art auction and effy ruffles. Personally I’m not interested in bingo or koroke and I don’t gamble.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Nightly entertainments were okay. Sometimes good and sometimes boring.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Servers in dining were not trained well. They are not introducing themselves before taking orders. If you go for tea time, beware that if you are sitting in an end corner then you won’t get much service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful and elegant. Very clean with nice design.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Our cabin happens to be right below the buffet and we can hear noises from above like rolling carts and moving stuffs early mornings. Guess service was generous enough to moved us to another room after the first night.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Disembarkation

No issues with disembarkation. We just walk right off the ship with our luggages.

Had the same experience on my cruise 2 weeks ago! Definitely agree activities were very lacking and service wasn’t the best. Regardless hope you had a relaxing time!

We are booked in room M702 on an upcoming cruise. Should we be concerned about being under the buffet?
