Review summary

We loved it after being isolated for 2 years due to the pandemic it was such a wonderful vacation

Embarkation

Well The ship was Docked at Pier 50 in San Pedro so we checked in at Pier 93 and then our luggage and us had to be bussed to the ship. It did slow things down a bit.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We tried the Crown Grill Restaurant … my husband had steak and i had lobster. The food was excellent and service was really good. The food in main dining room wasn’t as good as we are used to on Princess. Some nights the presentation was terrible no garnish on a white plate with brown Risotto and lobster not pleasing to look at all. I dont know whether it was because the crew was just getting back after the pandemic or what . The food in the buffet was good with lots of variety But i found the dessert fair boring no change from day to day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the jogging track used it everyday. Pools are great no complaints with them.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I loved the Rock Opera it was very well done but was disappointed there was just the one production show in the 7 days of our cruise. The band on the pool deck called Meridian was excellent. And there was an Irish duo that played in the Piazza and a few other venues. I loved them very talented.

Piazza

5 out of 5

Loved sitting in Piazza having a drink and watching the violinist and the Irish duo. The entertainment in the Piazza was excellent

Princess Theater

4 out of 5

Theater space is gorgeous and stage is seen well no matter where you sit in the theater.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I found the crew incredible in every venue bending over backwards to serve you and help you. Our room steward was very friendly and attentive. I wondered what it would be like only having our mini suite attended to once a day and no turn down at night. It was fine and if you requested turn down he did it. All the wait staff in dining venues really friendly and attentive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is absolutely beautiful the only thing i miss is on the promenade deck not being able to walk around the outside of the ship under cover. The crew keeps the ship immaculate .. so clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved our mini suite very roomy except balcony is quite small compared to the older ships

Ship tip

Don’t hesitate to sail on this ship shes a beauty!

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Loved our time in Mazatlan . We took a short cab ride to the water taxi and went across to Stone Island. It has the most stunning beach that happened to be fairly quiet when we went because it was a weekday. The weekends are very busy with locals. There are many restaurants along the beach where you can use their umbrellas and loungers and can order food and drinks. I believe there is a ship excursion that goes to stone Island. One thing the food is delicious … fresh seafood everywhere. Just to note we waded in the water up to our knees its not great for swimming cuz there can be rip tides.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took a ship excursion to the beach club. It was a 20 minute bus ride to Nuevo Vallarta. The beach club is beautiful with a grassy area and an infinity pool and a beautiful beach. There are loungers on the beach with umbrellas for shade and loungers and umbrellas around one side of the pool. You can purchase food and drink .. we had the cheese burger which was to die for . 240 Gm of beef BBQ’d for 45 minutes it was huge and delicious… worth every penny! There is also a kiddie pool too .

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Even though we were docked at pier 50 the views from the ship were pretty right by a marina.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
It was my least favourite port only restaurants and bars in the town . Can walk along harbour but you really need to book an excursion .

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We disembarked and used the ships shuttle service to LAX airport it was cine although im glad we had a late flight because we were the very last stop , it took a long time to drip every one throughout the airport.
