First trip on the Princess Cruise Line and we were very impressed. Nice ship great food and service

ship is clean and well run.buffet stewards were great about making people sanitize their hand every time, to keep everyone healthy. hot plates in buffet to eat on were much appreciated to keep your food hot. all the food served was of very good quality-did not have 1 questionable item.gym was good. spa personnel were more cordial than usual.

The ship rooms are not what we have been use to and the baths are to small.

Excellent ship. It is amazing how well it is layed out for all the services.

Extremely well maintained and clean. Overall the quality of the food was excellent, however waiters and servers poorly trained. disappeared for long periods and removed dishes and glasses without asking if you were finished (we were even at the last seating) Ports of call awful, but glacier visits and views of calving from ship were awesome. Annoying that everyone on the ship was trying to sell you something or "upgrading " this or that without mentioning the extra cost." We have Romano coffee tonight..... Would you like some?" Then if you say yes they ask you for your card to charge!

This was my first cruise so take that into consideration. Food was great 85% of the time and sub-par 15% of the time. Suggest you stay with seafood and avoid the steaks which are grade B at best. Surprised to see extra charges for soda and coffeee drinks, and of course all alcohol. Shows were better than expected. Rooms were cozy but clean and efficient. Beds... were the worse ever and the pillows were more than bad. Like pillowcases filled with random lumps of stuffing.

The ship was nice and pretty updated. Not the newest ship but still very nice. Staff needs hospitality training overall. Servers and stweards were excellent but some of the middle level staff did not remember that we were all the guests. Food was a little oily and fatty overall. There were very little options for breakfast and lunch. We felt we were always being upsold to buy drinks, sodas, coffees, etc. But overall Alaska was beautiful and the cruise was great!

We would not travel on Princess again.

Ship was clean and up to date

This was my first cruise and I enjoyed it so much I am already planning to do another one. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a balcony room and that was wonderful!

Nice ship, nice amenities, good food, variety of activities

My partner and I recently got back from the Diamond Princess Inside Passage Alaskan cruise. Compared to other cruise ships taken in the past, on both the low and high end scale, this did not meet our expectations. While the optional shore excursions that we took through Princess were exceptional, the ship itself was not. We elected anytime dining, as some of our shore excursions went well into the evening. We dined at several of the restaurants onboard where we found the food to be on par with food at a substandard restaurant. The service was poor. We would have to "flag down" a waiter literally every time we went to dinner. We would have an average of a 30 minute wait for the restaurants. Finally, we decided to just eat at the buffet to avoid having to wait. At the buffet if we went during dinner time (6-8pm) we never found a table to eat on. The ship overall was overcrowded and they did not have nearly enough staff (or tables) to accomodate so many guests. The restaurants (including the buffet) were all closed by 10pm. The room service menu was also very limited. The ship itself reminded me of a Las Vegas casino in the 1970's. Mostly a lot of older people and not many activities geared towards people under 70. We met several other guests who had the same feedback. When we departed the ship and stayed at the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage which a lot of Princess guests were staying at, several Cook staff members that we spoke to stated that many of the Diamond Princess guests were dissatisfied with their cruise and were complaining to Princess. Overall, Alaska was beautiful and like I stated earlier the shore excursions were amazing but definitely go with another line such as Norwegian or Holland America.

The ship was very nice. The food was fantastic there really wasnt anything negative about the ship except for the on-board ship credit that was promised. I went to customer service and asked them the first day and they said they didnt see anything in the system.

Very good and organized

I took a cruise with several family members. Check in went smoothly and faster than other cruises I've been on. The ship was well kept & clean. All the room stewards were top notch, always on top of things and very friendly. The buffet was sub-par and rather disappointing. Couple that with the absolute NEED to make dinner reservations more than a day in advance if you choose anytime dining, less you want to wait an hour... Breakfast stops @ 9am, except for the sub-par buffet. Half the wait staff was terrific, the other half were rude. Almost every maitre'd was rude. A good selection of shore excursions, though I found the personnel manning the desk less knowledgeable than I would have liked.

It was a shame about hygiene because of infection on previous ship, understood, but need a quicker way to get through food line ups and getting coffee, usually arrived late and cold. Smokers should be contained and especially in Casino, there was a smokeless night (1 only) but smoking was in evidence. The staff were extremely helpful.
