Diamond Princess

7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 16, 2006

Ship: Diamond Princess

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The ship is lovely and laid out in such a manner that we never felt crowded on a vessel that held 4,000 people (including staff and clients). The buffet room furniture was getting a bit worn in places but overall the experience of being on board was terrific. The art is wonderful and the decor is pleasing. The central staircase is elegant. The cruise was a true escape!

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We have been to PV before but not much has changed. The city is a bit run down but it's MEXICO and it's real. I would not return just because I don't care for PV all that much.
Don't Miss: Gringo Gulch

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

It is lovely. We cannot wait for the new dock to open. The promenade near the dock is beautiful. It is overpriced in general but gorgeous nonetheless.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling.

Mazatlan, Mexico

What a wonderful location for a cruise destination. We took a private tour with Eduardo and loved seeing the old and new Mazatlan. THe only change would be our location for lunch (an overpriced and overly busy tourist trap).
Don't Miss: City Tour

Pros: The entertainment

Cons: The long trudge down the hallways
