Review summary

This was our first cruise and we were totally satisified Princess Cruises. The Diamond Princess is a remarkable vessel, most notably it's layout and the variety of lounges, pools, and restaurants on board. You can enjoy a wide open sunny poolside experience, or, if the sun's too much, go to a covered pool area with the same ocean view. The ship was clean and modern with great artwork and decor.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food options were great - if you wanted traditional or formal dining, it was there, but if you wanted to kick back and just do pizza or a burger or a buffet, that option was yours as well.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Good options here - we saw 3 different comedy acts, a musical theater performance, multiple live bands (rock, jazz, R&B) and danced the night away at least twice in the nightclub!

Service and Staff

Everyone on board is friendly, our purser was absolutely fantastic!

Cabin / Stateroom

Our balcony room was fantastic, a great place to enjoy privacy if you wanted some escape time from the larger crowds. Beds were comfortable and bathroom facilities were very good.

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We thought that Mazatlan had a nice feel about it, a little more traditional town. Beachfront restaurants had nice views.
Don't Miss: Best shopping area is the Golden Zone in Mazatlan!!!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautiful, say no more.
Don't Miss: The cantinas near the pier are strategically located for Margarita seekers...

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The beachfront area of PV is very nice
Don't Miss: Don't forget to stop at the Hard Rock for beer in the hot afternoon...!

Pros: Great ship, great service, lots of variety and fabulous excursions.

Cons: Internet connections are tough at sea, maybe technology will change that...
