Review summary

This was our first cruise and we had no idea what to expect. We were told by friends and family that it would be the time of our lives and they were only half right. We are so thankful that our first cruise was with Princess and the Diamong Princess was awesome. The ship was very comfortable. It was easy to move around, and to find comfortable places to lounge, sit and relax in a variety of environments. The interior decor was very elegant, classy and comfortable all at the same time. We felt relaxed, welcomed and wanted wherever we were on the ship. The shopping aboard the ship had a variety of things to choose from and the service was excellent. You never wanted for food or lack of excellent dining choices. From eating at pool side, in your room, elegant dining rooms, or buffet style service and quality were awesome.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining aboard ship was quite an experience no matter where you dined. We tried things we never had before and enjoyed all of it. We had our set time every night for our elegant dining where they treated us like we were the only people in the room. Sitting by pool side eating a hamburger and fries made us feel just as important.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was awesome. We always had a variety of things to choose from and no matter what we chose, we enjoyed it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were very happy with all the staff and how they went above and beyond our expectations. Our dinner servers made us feel like we owned the ship or some kind of royalty.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
After a week aboard the Diamond Princess we were still exploring whenever there was a free moment. Were not sure we discovered every aspect of the wonderful and elegant ship. The decor as we noted above was very, very gorgeous.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our stateroom was very well laid out and had plenty of storage. We felt very comfortable in it. The air conditioning was easy to set the temperature to our liking.

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

We took the colonial tour and we really enjoyed being able to see the country side a little. Our tour guide did a great job telling us about the area, culture, economics, politics and history.
Don't Miss: The golden area and the beach ride coming back to the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We chose the pirate ship excursion. The entertainment on board was very enjoyable and the beach we went to was very secluded. Even though we had no kids with us, the pirates seem to always find things for the kids to do so that the parents could enjoy their time snorkeling, kayaking, or just lounging around on the beach.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We went on the sail and snorkeling tour. This was probably our favorite. The ride out to the private beach was awesome aboard the catamaran. The water was clear, warm and fish were everywhere. This was our first time snorkeling and definately won't be our last.
Don't Miss: sail and snorkeling

Pros: We loved everything about the cruise, but especially the service and entertainment variety.

Cons: The only thing I would change if I could, is to have a clock to see in the night. we had no concept of time since we had an inside room, it was dark. But we enjoyed sleeping in.
