Review summary

If you are looking for some serious ancient history, this is the cruise for you. Imagine seeing Roman, Venetian, Greek, and Turk influences to mention a few over the Aegean Sea area. See the birth place of democracy, theater and philosophy. I is worth the trip.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
After traveling with other cruise lines, the embarkation process seemed a bit slower than the others.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The variety of foods in the anytime dining area were not as much as we have experienced on other cruise lines, but the food was good. The main dining rooms and specialty restaurants were comparable to the the ships we have been on.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I would have to say onboard activities were average compared to other ships.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The nightly entertainment seemed to be lacking. Some nights no entertainment was offered in the main theater. They did do a shipboard version of the Voice that was interesting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was very helpful and accommodating at all times.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Nice ship, nice design and they kept it up very well from the restrooms to the deck areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was a good size cabin and equipped with all that you would expect. The bedding was phenomenal and slept very well. It was the best of any cruise so far. The cabin was kept very clean.

Ship tip

Make sure to have a carryon bag when you travel. As the cruise ship begins its travels, Your lost luggage may not catch up to you for several days. Remember, it is not the fault of the ship.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

3 out of 5
We went from airport to the ship. No excursions.

Salerno (Naples), Italy

4 out of 5
If you have seen Pompeii already, you need to see Herculeum. It is a must see because it tells a different story about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Kotor, Montenegro

3 out of 5
Nice mountains and scenery. It has a great deal of old and recent historical places to see.

Corfu, Greece

4 out of 5
This port was nice to visit. It has a beautiful coastline and charming history. Achilles Palace is nice to see.

Souda (Chania), Crete

3 out of 5
Went to a monastery called, Arkadi which was the Greek equivalent to America's Alamo during the war with Turkey. This was site was considered very important.

Mykonos, Greece

3 out of 5
Was okay to take a driving tour on. Was brown and sun scorched with mountains. Not a great deal to see.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
Best port on this part of the cruise. Visited the Acropolis, Mars Hill, Plaka and the Temple of Poseidon, along with some Olympic sites. Plenty of Roman ruins and influence there. Had a great meal of all local food as part of our tour. I highly recommend everyone to see all you can in Athens!!
