Review summary

unlike an Alaska cruise, I don't need to go on this one again, I though we would see more shoreline and fall colors but we didn't. time spent off the ship was better than on it. if I compare the cruise experience to Alaska there isn't really apples to apples. I would go back to Alaska again and again.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
terrible, one zig zag line after another, 3 hours start to finish. not enough chairs for those that needed to sit and no water offered. I saw people fall from exhaustion standing too long, this wasn't a spring break cruise, most 60+.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
crown princess needs a refreshing new decor and deep cleaning. food was ok.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
shows were pretty good, casino wasn't bad either

Entertainment

4 out of 5
great entertainment and movies

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
for the most part, the staff was great, witnessed one dining room waitress roll her eyes at a request from a guest

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
retire the crown princess

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
balcony was ok. dirty carpet and edge of room needed cleaning. mildew smell was present

Ship tip

only if its the only ship going to a certain destination. I don't think I would sail on her again.

Ports of call

New York, New York

4 out of 5
LGA sucks due to construction. lots to do in downtown nbc, interesting people.

Newport, Rhode Island

1 out of 5
nah, not a lot to see or do

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
super history venue, lots to see and do all day. a must

Bar Harbor, Maine Did not visit port

too windy to tender

Saint John, New Brunswick

3 out of 5

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
pretty good port, go see the lighthouse, only thing is, its an hour there, spend an hour and an hour back to the ship.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
walk off was pretty structured, it they were as in a hurry to get you aboard as they were to get us off, it would be great

My sister just did the NE/Canada cruise. She said the leaves had not begun the change yet...but someone told her it would be mid-October

it's coming. never fails. 1000s of leaves not yet fallen to rake in November

Agree about Alaska. I am reading about the New England cruises and it seems too early for the Fall foliage colors. The cities and ports are nice, but not the colors - yet!

I live in Canada. No reason to spend money to go to Alaska. we have it all here. snow ice cold clouds moose mountains. I do not have the same warmth 10 months a year, exotic birds and reptiles, ocean breezes and turquoise waters. off to the Caribbean for me in February

Hawaii has been our favorite cruise, next would be Alaska for me.

Right there with you! That has been my fave and we are doing it again
