Review summary

Overall, we were pleased with our first Princess Cruise.  Parking at the cruise terminal with the assistance of the shuttle was helpful.  The porters received our bags and they were delivered timely. Our stateroom was nice.  The shower was a little small. Rico, our cabin steward did a great job! The food on the ship was always good to very good whether at the buffets or dining room.  We thought the pizza could have been better.  Our last night, we ate at the Crown Grill and it was very good.  All the wait-staff throughout were helpful.  It was our first experience with receiving assistance with water, coffee and juice in the buffet and pool areas. We went to all the shows in the Princess Theatre.  The entertainment was good, but we have had better overall on other cruise lines. The Princess singers, dancers and orchestra did a good job.  We very much enjoyed pianist, Jowita Tabaszewska.  However, there were other people in the Adagio Bar and the Crooner's Lounge who were very inconsiderate during her playing.  People would sit up in front and then not listen to the music, instead focusing on drinking, talking loudly and even laughing.  Others also would sit in front and read/play on their IPADS or spend time on their smart-phones.  It was distracting and aggravating.  We enjoyed the Neptune pool. Disembarking, we were able to get off the ship quickly.  A fun cruise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Very good, the quality of the food at the buffet and in the dinning room was consiistently good. We very much enjoyed the Crown Grill one night. The wait-staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Onboard Activities

OK

Entertainment

OK- We escpecially enjoyed the Princess singers, dancers and orchestra. They were all very versatile and the orchestra played Dixie Land Jazz and Ball Room music. The pianst, Jowita Tabaszewska was outstanding. In the Adagio Bar and Crooners Lounge, there were issues with inconsiderate passengers making alot of noise during her performances.

Children's Programs

N/A

Service and Staff

Great- Rico, our cabin steward did an excellent job.

Ship Quality

OK, there were some areas of wear throughout the ship. With the turn-around time so close, it must be a challenge to keep up with all the maintainence and repairs.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great- Rico, our cabin steward did a great job! The shower was small.

Ship tip

It was an older crowd, with fewer college students and children. Despite announcements to the contrary, some passengers insisted on reserving (multiple) seats in the theatre and in the pool areas. I realize it could be difficult to police, but a presence of staff would have been helpful.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Easy to park, tranfer your luggage and board the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Did not visit port

Walking in the Malecon area on the boardwalk and beach.

Mazatlan, Mexico Did not visit port

Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and flea market downtown and the cliff divers.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Did not visit port

Took a water taxi over to sea scenic areas and dropped off at Medano Beach. Nice walk back to the pier and shopped along the way.
