Review summary

The Crown Princess was the newest, nicest cruise ship we've ever been on. Everything about the ship was nice and the food was very good every day/night - there was plenty of good entertainment as well. The ships crew/staff were all very helpful and nice too. we scheduled this cruise for leaf season, but every where we went it was still green - that didn't make any difference in the great time we had, the weather was almost perfect for exploring and seeing new places.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
It would have been nice if the two Any Time restaurants had different menus each night instead of both offering exactly the same thing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
we enjoyed the entertainment and activities on the ship, but there were gaps of time when there was nothing going on and other times when there were several things at the same time. If we'd had set times for dinning we would have missed many things that Any Time dinning allowed us to do...just a thought.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Free bottled water in the cabin everyday would have been nice. we went on a Viking River cruise last year and they provided free bottled water in your cabin, + free wine with dinner every night, that was very nice.

Ports of call

Halifax, Nova Scotia

3 out of 5
our Tall Ship sail of the harbor would have been nicer if it had gone more places that just from the city's front to where our ship was docked then back again.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
we didn't have the best guide this day, but enjoyed seeing Boston for the first time - we especially enjoyed walking around Quincey Market on our own. Princess should have provided free shuttle service from the ship to the Market instead of charging for it....too expensive.

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
The best thing about our time in Quebec City was our guide, she was very good and helped make the city's history come to life for us.

Newport, Rhode Island

5 out of 5
we really, really enjoyed Newport, both the tour of large homes and walking around on our own - our guide for the tour was very good.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
A very walkable city.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Even thought this was the one day with rain our guide was wonderful and again made Bar Harbor's history come to life.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

5 out of 5
Again our guide was great and we enjoyed seeing the town by horse drawn trolley.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Enjoyed walking around St. John on our own.

Pros: Everything new that we got to see and do

Cons: Paying for bottled water in our cabin (+ the price of wifi on the ship)

Recommends Crown Princess? Yes!
