Review summary

Booking a Suite on the Costa Deliziosa made for a truly "delicious" cruise!

Suite passengers enjoy lovely private dining room for three meals a day - superb food and service. Also - we were celebrating our anniversary and Costa is the only line I know that loves couples who are honeymooning or celebrating anniversaries and always makes a fuss over them (on all their ships) with a special cocktail party!

Fewer  Americans on board - so we got to practice our Italian, French, German and a bit of Portuguese - all without paying for a trip across the "pond".

As suite passengers we enjoyed the services of a butler and Amit (our personal butler) went the extra mile - making sure we had everything we needed including the fruits we enjoyed most delivered to the cabin daily. Boarding and disembarking were smooth and easy. Also love the 11PM boarding time, allowing us to arrive on the same day by plane.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Loved the concept of regional Italian foods - different every day - with descriptive comments on menu. Also the authentic focaccia offered at the buffet and the transformation of part of the buffet to an Italian style Pizzeria every night!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We are considerably older than many passengers (88 and 90) so many activities were not designed for us. But we met lovely people from Switzerland and played bridge with them - learning bridge terms in a new language!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Hard to provide entertainment for multilingual passengers - but nevertheless there were a few excellent evenings of music and dance.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
No kids with us.

Cabin / Stateroom

Enjoyed the services offered to suite passengers. Also, fabulous butler, Amit. Alas, TV offerings low on the list: meager - and interactive function on set did not work (even though repair was promised). Also CC (closed captions would've helped us in foreign languages. (Remote had a CC button - but it didn't work.)

Ship tip

Book a Suite! half the price of balcony cabins on more "luxurious" ships with many of the perks (private dining room, drinks, etc.)

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
It was Mahogany Bay - not Coxen Hole - and had a lovely nature trail and small beach very close to the ship - less than 5 minute walk.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
We like to shop at Mega market in downtown Cozumel - unfortunately our ship docked in furthest port - Puerto Maya - necessitating taxi ride to downtown.
