The cruise was simply awesome!  The itinerary was great, the excursions were fabulous, most importantly, the Panama Canal experience was simply the best! I highly recommend this cruise for anyone who has not been to the Canal!

Panama Cruise March 2017 by Cruiser9689979

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Like going through the canal and the excursions in Columbia, Costa Rica and Jamaica. Liked that Princess had various happy hours in some of the bars every day. Traveled with 10 of us in our group and we all had a great time.

The food, destinations, and staff were all very good.  The entertainment was the best part of the cruise.  It was excellent!  Also, the food was extremely good.  We had a wonderful time and the Panama Canal is great piece of engineering.  I recommend this cruise.

ten days of the coral princess cruise and sight seeing by resnickb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

NervousWE ARE CONSIDERING NOT GOING ON PRINCESS AGAIN UNLESS WE CAN  BE ASSURED  OF THE ADVERTISED ITEMS. Staff in anytme dining, head waiters were full of themselves. Neuro virus scared the hell out of us.  Food in buffet was not up to usual standards, On the cheap side.

Disappointed we missed two ports by ruthboling

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

everything on the ship couldn't have been better.  Am disappointed we didn't go to Costa Rica or Grand Cayman.  I know it was for our safety but still disappoints.  I would definitely have given 5 stars if not for that..

Panama Canal by kkathy0617

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

the cruise staff was extreamly  friendly and helpful.  Really enjoyed the Princess singer/dancers.  Lectures were great and helpful about ports we were visiting.  And of course the food was outstanding.

The excursions were a little pricey and in some instances too short.

Panama etc. by cruzinalot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The crew on this ship were especially friendly, well trained and efficient.  The food in the dining room was very good and Sabatini's is always a favorite of mine.  The cabins are a little smaller being an older ship, but the balcony was good size.  They opened the balcony door between our cabin and my friends so we could all sit together on the balcony.

Very enjoyable cruise with wonderful weather!  As always Angie did an excellent job with all the arrangements.

Thank-you

Coral Princess Panama Canal Cruise by Bobleen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Very relaxing and enjoyable cruise. The meals and the service were top notch.

Be aware that on a ten day cruise in February most of the passengers are retirees.

You will be at sea most of the time. The port calls were relatively short--only five hours allotted for Aruba, etc.

Getting on and off the ship in Ft Lauderdale was organized and efficient.

GREAT CRUISE ON THE CORAL PRINCESS by Cruiser20621804

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The food was the very best we have had on any cruise--and we have done ten. Fantastic chef on this ship.  The entertainment was also the best we have ever enjoyed.  The costumes and sets and the quality of the performers was above and beyond.  The ship , which is not new, was clean and the service in all bars and other venues was excellent.  On the minus side, where the ship docked was a major problem. Other lines had all the prime spots and we were delegated in one case to a cement plant where steel beams and machinery had to be negotiated for disembarkation. This was not the only port this happened in. As Platinum Princess members, we really expected a good table in the assigned seating dining room, but were given a table right by a major freeway of waiters delivering meals and taking dishes away.  We complained to the head waiters, all of which came and talked to us, but there was nothing that could have been done at that point (the first dining). So besides internet access (250 minutes) being loyal to Princess, means very little.  However, overall, it was a great cruise and there were far more positives than the few negatives.

Panama Canal cruise on Coral princess by LadyElaineE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

It is a good itinary. This ship is not as nice as some other princess ships because there is a long wait for the dining room. There are not enough chairs to sit by the pool, or anywhere near it. The cabin attendants and the buffet were great!'

Quick shore visits by tomporter413

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The first 2 days were Sea Days and then when we finally stopped in port it was for 5 hours and then off again. The excursions were short. We did as much as we felt we could but you certainly aren't going to learn much about each port.

The evening dining, in Anytime Dining, was a very long line (35-45 minutes) because there was nothing else to do. I'd suggest assigned dining so you have a time to be there and a chance of getting in. We tried to make reservation, as we have on other cruise lines, and that was not an option.

The shows were very entertaining. We didn't find "other" activities such as watercolor painting or lectures that we've experienced on other cruise.

Getting on board and off in Ft.

were very simple and a pleasure.

Lovely getaway by jodytzucker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We were especially thrilled with the customer service and attentive staff, from the dinner waitstaff to the cabin steward. We had traditional dining with a delightful table for 8, and the food was consistently good. Lots of choices, and even if you didn't want something on the menu, they fixed up a dish for you.

The cabin was very clean, but our cabin was in need of a refresher. The couch was pretty old, and the bathroom, while clean, needed some work on the grout. This didn't detract from our great experience, but it just looked a little tired.

The itinerary was nice. We enjoyed the days at sea on our way to Aruba. The stop in Aruba was too short, however. The stops in Cartagena and Costa Rica had many touring options, and we enjoyed them immensely. The tour we booked in Panama was not so great, in fact, I would say, pretty bad. I think it was due to our guide, not a fault of the cruise line.

The end of cruise ez check program made our disembarkation stressfree. Our bags were checked all the way to our destination, so we didn't have to go searching for them in the terminal, or transport them ourselves to the airport. It was well worth the additional cost.

All in all, we had a lovely time, and came home refreshed.

Staff and services. by Cruiser47093970

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Food and entertainment was very good. However, the ship itself could use some sprucing up (painting, repairs, etc.). Enjoyed Aruba and Grand Cayman visits. The Panama Canal was an interesting experience.

We loved seeing the Panama Canal by fanseanansea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Our favorite part of the cruise was the entertainment!  We were thrilled with all that was brought to the stage as well as the game-show type events that were planned.

The food was very good, and the ship was nice.  The only suggestion for improvement I have is to perhaps offer more of a variety of things to do for the days at sea.

I have  already recommended the trip to others!

MPTV cruisers by Cruiser53208997

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Smaller ship made things flow easier.  Using the lifeboats as tenders was a good way of moving passengers quickly to shore and keep the boats in operating order.  Good entertainment although the theater filled to capacity early and I didn't wish to go to the later shows. Too much good food entrees for my will power. Lots to do and having the promenade to  walk around is always a plus. Rooms were spacious enough for two with storage very adequate.  Cheryl's notes, assistance and  friendliness

are reassuring that my trip will go smoothly.

Till next time!

Panama Canal Cruise on the Coral Princess by Cruiser88343678

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We loved the way the cruise was set up.  Liked the sail days and how many of the excursions were spaced with some cruise time.  Especially at the end, we had time to relax between excursions before going home.  The food was great, the coffee shop was a great bonus for us.  We were disappointed that the casino was as small as it was, and that the theaters were small.  But, the staff was exceptional.  We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable no matter what we did.  I would have liked to see a few more activities during the cruise days, but did take advantage of many that were available.

panama canal, highlight by andylblais

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Coral princess, has a great embarkation and debarkation system, as long as you  do the advance requested paper work.  The ship is small and older  but well maintained. Newer bigger ships may have more to offer but can't give you the experience of fitting thru the canal locks, etc. The food was excellent , some of the best I have experienced, The ship's entertainment shows employed local on board staff, but they surprised me with their singing and acting talent. The shows were well  worth seeing..The ship  was well staffed and made us all feel comfortable and our needs were all met. The time in Ports  were somewhat shorter than we liked but were fun to see.. Bottom line. A memorable 10 day journey highlighted by a delightful experience at the canal, sandwiched by visits to several interesting ports a days at sea.

Panama Canal (in/out) from FLA with Princess by Brogie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

5 ports of call nice but some disappointing and a few awesome excursions.

Into canal was only through 1 set of locks and then anchored just outside, then turned around by the end of the day; disappointed.  Some ports were more commercial with taxi drivers annoying.

Beautiful ship but elevators did not all stop on all floors + small shower. The entertainment great but should have been more than 2 musical shows. Great food/options except for free non-alcoholic drinks - lemonade in the buffet area only.  Great weather and enjoyed it so would recommend Princess and the loop.

great itinerary - ship and amenities not up to Princess standards by erdyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The Panama Canal was great as was Cartegena - Costa Rica and the excursions were disappointing - overall good ports and good excursions.

The ship was somewhat crowded - anytime dining meant anytime waiting - the staff was great - but reservations were hard to get and waits of up to 30 minutes -

we opted for the Crab Shack which was a great pop up choice one night.  Most disappointing was the wine list-  3 bottles we wanted were out of stock the first night - there were no good roses on the menu for the whole trip

Entertainment was not up to what we expected - mostly single performers and one production show - and you had to get to the theaters really early in order to get seats

triva required getting to the lounge two hours early to get a seat because it was in the same location as happy hour -

my husband has mobility problems and i had to get to excursions early to be able to get a seat in the front of the bus for him - since there were limited reserved handicapped seats

the smoking area was extremely limited - and something standing room only with poor ventilation

the crew was great and our cabin steward accommodating for the first time ever I encountered someone at the reception desk that was not customer friendly

Itinerary was changed we went to Ocho Rios not Montego Bay
