Review summary

Didn't see as much wildlife I was hoping but the glaciers were great. Cruise was fine, mostly geared towards an older crowd, would have been nice if things were open later (the gym, spa, pools ect. all closed at 10pm, way too early)

Embarkation

They could have done a lot of this check in process online so it would be faster.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining rooms and specialty restaurants had nice menu options, and the buffet had lots of options as well. The only thing I would say is the buffet could have had a little more diversity, would have been nice to have more Mexican foods and Thai foods.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools always seemed to be filled with kids so I avoided them. The only adults only pool is $40/day extra or $20 for half a day. Seemed overpriced to me. Most of the activities seemed to revolve around getting people to buy something, which I really didn't like. The activities I did enjoy were usually in the Explorer's Lounge in the evening, like trivia, karaoke, ect. The movie screenings were super disappointing. The outdoor screen needs desperately to be repaired and the movie choices weren't great. It would be nice if they offered free popcorn. I did like that they offered blankets at the outdoor screenings, however I would suggest they incorporate headphones that people can listen to the movie from. That way everyone can adjust the level to their own liking and you aren't disturbing people who don't want to watch the movie. The fitness center was nice but it closed way too early. It should be open until 12am, theres no reason not to leave it open later.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were super cheesy and unoriginal. They lacked diversity in the cast as well. They had multiple shows that highlighted African American music and had no actual African Americans in them. Also lacked interesting plot lines and story development. Felt like I was watching a high school musical. The musicians that played in the various lounges however were all great.

Children's Programs

I did not participate in children's activities

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service and staff were great. Totally professional, friendly, and accommodating.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Would have been nice to have more cool things on the outdoor decks like some of the other ships have. I never even found the basketball court it was so out of the way and hidden. Ship seemed very clean although one of the info sheets in the cabins did mention to avoid using public bathrooms because of diseases. It was weird and made it seem dirty even though it didn't look dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean, efficient, and the beds were comfortable. Shower was super tiny.

Ship tip

Don't buy art from the art gallery, Park West Gallery. Its a total scam. They've had many law suits against them and are dishonest about art work being originals painted on canvas. Do your research BEFORE getting on the boat. Lots of these companies on board are selling low quality goods claiming they are higher quality than they actually are.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

It was fine, we didn't do much here other than get on the boat.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Town was fine, not much to do other than shop. The hiking was nice but you have to call a taxi to get to the trail head (or walk about half an hour and up a steep street).

Juneau, Alaska

I loved the brewery here. Also did a nice hike. I liked that we had lots of time in this port.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Skagway was nice. Really nice little town, did some hiking and took the train. The brewery was fun too.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

Nothing to do here other than take a bus to the airport or drive to Denali

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
had pretty clear instructions and was fairly painless.
