You have to be a fool to cruise with Celebrity or book a cruise with American Airlines Cruise line. When a problem arises you are on your own. Celebrity tells you they cannot help because you booked elsewhere and does not respond to emails. Given how I was treated, I should reimbursed the full cost of the cruise. Never again on Celebrity. I expect someone to contact me about my full refund.
Embarkation

mediocre. We got on the ship at 12:15 and did not have access to the luggage until after 3. I was prepared to carry on, but was told that was not permitted.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food was ok, but definitely not gourmet. While the food was mediocre, the service in the Aqua Dining Room was exceptional. The service in the dining room was the only redeeming feature, but not enough for the awful way I was treated and the refusal of the guest relations to do anything initially because I booked the cruise through who would not return any of the 5 emails I sent nor respond on the chat. The food served in the cafeteria was never hot and there was never a sit down option for lunch. The quality of the alcohol on drink package was poor.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
There were no real options. There were limited classes in the gym and no lectures as there are on other cruise lines. Particularly on sea days there should have been multiple aerobics and spin classes, lectures and stimulating options. In comparison on Regent there were lectures on a regular basis. Here there were none. There were 5 Peloton bikes, but only one where the classes could appear on the screen. Likewise, there were other issues with other machines which were not addressed on the entire cruise. One class a day for spinning early in the morning just does not cut it. Truly a disappointment.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The comedian was awful. The two singers were good and the Celebrity singers and dancer's were very good.
Children's Programs
Did not travel with kids.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Wait staff, sommelier and maitre de- exceptional. Guest relations, initially horrible. I had to make a scene before anyone would recognize I had been defrauded by a travel partner and embarrassed by the misrperesentations and fraud. After making a scene, the manager came out, and tried to at least find a partial solution. However, it was insufficient. A bottle of wine for the embarrassment caused by the failure to act and the constant remarks you booked the cruise line through someone else, we cannot help just does not cut it. There was a refusal to contact the travel partner. You would have to be a fool to go on Celebrity knowing that no one has the power to do anything. I am seeking a full refund. The staff in the gym was helpless. There were 5 Peloton bikes and when I asked to help get on the attendant, could not do anything. There were service issues with every the recumbent bikes. When my wife went for a hair appointment, the emphasis was on trying to sell her product with high pressure sales tactics instead of service.
There was no option for lunch with sit down service. Everything was cafeteria service. Particularly on sea days, there should have been at least one place where you could get served.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was clean and I always saw people cleaning. The spa did not work properly. The jets had little force. The water was luke warm and there was a broken tile on which I slipped. It remained a problem for the full cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin and bathroom were small, but the Verdana was wonderful. There was a problem with the safe and the drain which despite complaining was never truly addressed. The Verdana was a highlight. To be able to sit there peaceful and quiet was very pleasant. Also would prefer actual small bottles and bars of soap instead of the pump bottles on the wall which are particularly awkward with a tiny shower.
Ship tip
Do not go on the Celebrity Line because if there is an issue as I encountered everyone is powerless to act. they will tell you to contact their travel partner which I did with over 5 emails and chat. The travel partner never responded. The only solution is no one should go on Celebrity and no one should work with . I can only imagine the same we cannot help you if there was a serious health emergency. From my view, do not cruise with Celebrity and do not do business with . I expect someone to contact me from both.
Unlike other cruise lines, there is no private island. The beach is beautiful. For Resorts World to want $100 a couple to use the beach club absurd. The cost of $100.00 for a gold cart is also very high. The water was crystal clear and inviting,
We always book our airfare with Celebrity and have not had any problems with them. If the airlines changes the flight Celebrity takes care of it for us.
Sounds like you are blaming Celebrity for a problem with your airlines travel agency. If the TA promised you something extra and you did not get it on the ship, then you need to take that up with the TA. You should have contacted the TA while on the cruise to try and resolve the problem. While you don't explain specifics, you sound like you want a full refund for one smaller issue which they are not going to give you. You can boycott Celebrity if you want, but I think you would have had the same result with most cruiselines. Hopefully you have a better experience on your next cruise.
