The Royal Suite 6133 is definitely worth trying! : )
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Upon arriving (11:30am) at Terminal G (Port of Miami), I was greeted by terminal personnel, and escorted directly to the Embarkation Lounge. Security check point and basic checkin procedures were quick and easy with my terminal escort. In the Embarkation Lounge there was a variety of snacks and beverages. I was informed that I could enter the ship (Summit) at any time. So, I was escorted onboard by ship personnel, and taken directly to my stateroom 6133 (Royal Suite). After dropping off my personal carryons, I went directly to Luminae (Suite’s exclusive onboard restaurant). A lunch was provided from an outstanding menu selection.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Luminae is the main dining area for suite guests. All wait staff and restaurant personnel work well together to serve the guests. I am a very fussy eater, and this staff worked very closely with me to provide a meal to satisfy my dietary wishes.
I visited BLU Restaurant (Aqua Class) for one meal. It was an exceptional experience. All wait staff also worked together to provide me with another awesome meal.
During my cruise, I was also able to dine twice in the Tuscan Grille. Both occasions were great. The food was wonderful and the wait staff were very accommodating to my fussy tastes. Well worth the added expenses to dine in the Tuscan Grille, if you like steak and Italian food.
QSINE provides a “Le Petite Chef” show to go along with the 4 course meal. Each short video is well worth seeing (especially for guests with children, and those who enjoy artist impressions & technology) while experiencing this dining experience.
I dined in the Cosmopolitan Restaurant for lunch, and breakfast. The wait staff took excellent care of my dining desires. They were quick to serve, and were constantly available to take care of more food and beverage requests.
The Oceanview Cafe was also available to all guests. I enjoyed the service at the crew service buffet areas. It is also open late at night, and into the early morning hour (until 1:00am). Pizza is a quick and easy late night food.
You cannot go wrong at the various dining venues afforded passengers onboard the Summit. Should you have an issue, please deal directly with the wait staff and the Maitre’d or the chefs who are readily available in the dining areas. Don’t be afraid to make a request (preferably ahead of time) regarding your dining wishes or restrictions. Celebrity staff are usually very accommodating, if they can provide you with a favorite food or meal. Don’t forget, they are definitely limited to supplies available onboard at the time (grocery stores are very limited at sea, lol).
Le Petit Chef
5 out of 5
Entertainment (short video clips) accompany all 4 courses of your meal. They are part of the “Le Petite Chef” dining experience. It’s worth a look in my opinion. The food, wait staff, and atmosphere were exceptional. They catered well to me and my dietary fussiness.
The Retreat Lounge
5 out of 5
Always available to Suite Guests (drinks and fast finger foods) is the Retreat Lounge. There is the former Michael’s Club Lounge on deck 4 between the casino and the theater. Also, on the forward deck 12 (accessible by stairs or handicap accessible elevator from outside deck 11 near the Sky Lounge), there is a small Retreat Lounge dining area for Suite Guests. It has a hot tub and lounge chairs for sunning and funning.
Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria
5 out of 5
Excellent mid ship location for an early morning, midday, or late evening gathering. Special coffee drinks, teas, beverages, pastries, gelato, and water are available. Often there is a musical performance by a solo artist, duo, or trio onboard for those moments when you are in the mood to chat, enjoy live background music, and just relax.
Tuscan Grille
5 out of 5
Super Steakhouse and Italian Restaurant combined together to provide passengers with an outstanding dining experience. Through the glass window, you can watch the chefs while they prepare your meal.Wait staff work together to provide an atmosphere of cooperation while you are catered to during your extraordinary meal.
Oceanview Café
5 out of 5
Buffet meals onboard Summit are still served by the crew. They will work with you regarding portion size, and there’s no problem going back for more servings of those foods that you like.Clean up is quick, so let crew know, if you are just going back to the serving area, and you still have food that you are eating left on your plate.Beverage staff are also available for providing you with drinks that are on your plan.
Cosmopolitan Restaurant
5 out of 5
For those passengers who have fixed dining, there are 2 seatings (early and late) on deck 5. The “anytime dining” is available on deck 4. If it is busy when you arrive, the hostess will give you a beeper to alert you to the availability of your table.Once again, working with the Maitre’d or the hostess with requests ahead of time is a good idea for special requests. The crew really want you to enjoy the voyage, and they try hard to make your requests come true.
Blu
5 out of 5
Fine dining for Aqua Class passengers. BLU is a specialty restaurant with excellent food and wait staff to match. They will work with you, if you give them advanced notice of dietary restrictions or desires.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
“Deal or No Deal” is an interesting activity with a good opportunity to win a free cruise.
Trivia games, sports activities, and live musicians throughout the ship provide awesome musical performances. There is always something happening onboard for all passengers.
Pools, the spa, the gym, and activity areas around the ship provide opportunities for active minded travelers to exercise and find like minded travelers.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Top notched live ship entertainment is always available onboard the Celebrity Summit. Whether it’s the crew based singers, dancers, and acrobats or the live performers from off the ship, the performances are always high quality.
Check the daily planner for times and locations.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The entire staff goes out of their way to be helpful to passengers. Take a moment to greet your wait staff, room attendant, and other ship personnel with your requests for making your voyage a better one for you and your travel party. If something is not to your liking, then speak directly with the person providing you with the service. Often, they will take care of the situation straight away without more discussion. (Just a word of advice!)
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is constantly being cleaned and maintained. It is a well kept ship that has been revolutionized by Celebrity.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The Royal Suite was well maintained and always clean. It has a large balcony with an outdoor whirlpool hot tub and numerous couches and chairs.
It’s living room and dining area are spacious! The bedroom has a second entrance to the balcony.
In the bathroom, there is a hot tub, dual sinks, toilet, and large 2 door shower.
Luxurious heavy bathrobes are hanging in the closet waiting to be worn by the passengers in this suite. There are also slippers, and a new added feature in custom pajamas with your name embroidered onto the shirt. What an awesome surprise when they arrived on the bed during the evening room cleaning and setup.
A shoreside concierge takes your requests before boarding, and forwards them to the onboard ship concierge. The Royal Suite is prepared for you as you requested ahead of sailing.
Both the stateroom attendant and your Personal Retreat Host work together to accommodate you and your requests. Please feel free to make your requests known ahead of time with the shoreside concierge. Or, once onboard your crew will work hard to serve you. Just ask, and relax, as it is your voyage!
Ship tip
Enjoy your time onboard the Summit, and know that the awesome staff is there to make your vacation a memorable and enjoyable voyage.
Easy parking (expensive) right at the terminal “G”.
I would suggest taking an airboat ride excursion, if time permits, and you have never experienced it before!
Usually there on Sunday, so I walk to the nearby Catholic Cathedral for Mass at 10:00am. I have toured the town and visited both large casinos. Walk carefully as the streets have many holes, uneven walkways, and traffic driving on the opposite side from the USA (where I am from).
Most areas are safe and the people are generally friendly.
