The Celebrity Summit is a well run, very clean ship with excellent service. If you are looking for a great short getaway, this is a great ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was the best ever. We love the assigned times (you get to pick). There were no lines and everything was very efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room exceeded expectations. Normally, we have to do specialty dining to get a great meal and service. This time, it was the opposite. The Tuscan Grille food was average and the service was not good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is something for everyone. And if you don't want to do anything, there are places to go to enjoy some quiet time. The fitness center is excellent. I've never seen that many free weights at the higher weight levels.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Musicians around the ship were average. DJ was good but, they had him in weird spots. We felt bad for the comedian as it's tough to play to a 1/4 full theater.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
One of the best cruises we've had for service.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleanliness is a 5-star, Design is 3.5. The entire ship was immaculate and constantly being cleaned. From a design standpoint, there needed to be seats on the promenade area and there is no game room or library.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Great cabin. Extended/angled balcony with great view. Very clean and comfortable. Our room steward was exceptional. Cons: Why is there only an oversized chair in the room (we both fit but, it was tight). There is room for a love seat and it would look better from a design standpoint). We missed the storage over the bed. It wasn't needed on a 4 night but, would be very helpful for a 7+ night. Yes, I know I can pack less but, that's not me. :)
Ship tip
Enjoy coffee or tea at Cafe al Baccio. The Sunset Bar area is a great space to eat outside.
The true local part of Bimini is very interesting to visit. Great and friendly locals. Loved Stuarts Conch Shack and Holy Name Catholic Church. Our taxi driver, Big Boy, was awesome. Super friendly and informative. The let down was the beach club. It needs more workers. There is no one handing out towels, chair service is non-existent and the music is way too loud (and I love to go dancing at clubs). It does not have an upscale beach club vibe.
