Review summary

Of the 20 or so cruises I've been on, this without a doubt, was the "GOAT" (Greatest Of All Time). Words really cannot express the spectacular time we both had and this was Mary's first cruise ever. She is 100% hooked. A special shout out goes to the crew in the Aqua Club Dining room. Rusian, Alistar, Entis, Lenworth, Iva, & Joe. The all made us feel the a King & Queen. Hope to see you all again one fine day. Our great agent, Maggie, has us booked on a brand new ship to Bermuda in April out of New York.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Aqua Club dining is the way to go! Top servers working in the Aqua Club dining room. Never a long wait for a table. Food is amazing. Always "off the menu" goodies. The breakfast buffets were just great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The martini bar was "the place to be" . Live music around the ship was super.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Nightly shows were fantastic. We enjoyed everyone one of them. The live music in all the bar areas were super duper.

Children's Programs

Not traveling with children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone we interacted with was fantastic. The photographers were a blast. We purchased the "all photos included" package for $299. Wound up with over 200 photos. Only problem here, is they never sent us the download as promised. Not cool. Hopefully someone from Celebrity will be reviewing this and we can get what we paid for. And for that reason, I took the 5th star away.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It's like a brand new ship. If you've ever sailed aboard the Summit wait until you see her now.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was always clean. The towels and wash cloths were like sandpaper. All they really need to do is use a little fabric softener in the washing machines. All new bathrooms, furniture, carpets etc. It's like a new ship except it's not. Cabin was just steps from the elevator.

Ship tip

Be prepared for terrible internet service. Even with the re-do of the entire ship they still can't get the internet service right. Very slow. All my vacations are working vacations and this was no exception. Spent $168 for 6 days and every day was worse than the day before. Oh Well!

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Clean terminal. Plenty of check in personal.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Our favorite island in the world. We sailed aboard the "America's Cup" boat racing experience. This was my 4th time & Mary's first. She can't wait to return for another race.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

All we had the energy to do was shop!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Port was great. Took a quick 20 minute taxi ride from the pier to the airport. $27 was a bargain for the two of us.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Walked off the ship. All our luggage was together and many Porters just waiting to take our luggage to a taxi. When you use a porter there is a special customs line. No waiting. Made our flight to Philly in plenty of time. We don't think we'll ever do a re-positioning cruise again. Not worth the expensive one way air fare back home + the hassle of dealing with airports.
