A great repositioning cruise. Lots of sea days to relax. Ports and disembarkation were modified by the hurricane damage and the people involved did their best.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Port Liberty in NJ is so easy to use. Easy drop off, easy check in, easy walk onto the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room is very good, and the specialty restaurants are excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn't use most of this - we wanted to relax.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedian was good. The one stage show that we watched was also good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
From our stateroom attendant to the dining room staff to random staff that we encountered on the ship - everyone was friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is in very good shape. The design is a little odd since the Solstice-ization - some rooms have odd shapes because space was carved out for other areas (Revelations lounge, the main dining room balcony). Everything was meticulously maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
A concierge class cabin surrounded by suites. The cabin is a little larger than a regular balcony, and the balcony itself was much larger. The stateroom attendant was excellent, as you'd expect in suite-land. Everything in the cabin was in great shape. Lots of storage - we didn't fill it all.
Ship tip
Don't miss the Terrace on deck 12 aft. It's a great place to relax and watch a movie or concert. On embarkation day it's a wonderful place to avoid the crowds until the cabins are open.
If you find the inside corridors crowded (after a show, perhaps) use the outside decks on deck 4.
I choose not to rate this port low because they are still recovering from the hurricane devastation. Everybody worked well to ensure the best possible experience for us as we left the ship and flew home.
Waiting in Sushi on Five with other concierge guests was relaxing - better than a crowded lounge or auditorium.
The arrival hall was very hot and humid due to lack of A/C following the hurricane. I'm sure it will be nicer soon.
