Review summary
The average age of the passengers is 65 but not a young fun 65 a senior citizen 65.Tables were not cleaned dishes and food left on them in the pool area and buffet. There was food and trash on the pool deck. The pool is not much more than you would have in your back yard but there art 2000 passengers using it. You can eat in the buffet and 1 restaurant it is $50.00 a person for the other restaurants. Sit down dinner is at 6:00pm or 8:30pm you must choose 1 of these times or it's buffet for you. Services in restaurant is very slow 8:30 dinner had us done at 12:00. When we complained about the services I was given a over cooked dried out stake at my next dinner. The waiter came over half way thru dinner and said how's that stake dried out isn't it. Some form of punishment for complaining? They will have a fire drill for staff at 10:00am while you are on your vacation so alarms will be going off in your room, you may want to ask what day they will do this so it's not a morning you are choosing to sleep in. The ship says they go by US laws so our 20 yr old son could not have a beer even in international waters but they are more than happy to let anyone 18 and over gamble in the casino. Shows and activities are also geared towards the senior crowed. The staff is more focused on up selling you than providing good customer services. ( ie dinners, excursions, future cruises, spa packages, even party's with the senior staff at $40.00 a person. The senior staff think their celebrities and I should pay them to take my photo and have a drink with them.) every photo is an extra $25.00. There's bingo $40.00 for 3 cards. Drinks are $6.00 and $9.00 the alcohol package is $55 or $65 an the soda package is $9 a day. We bought 1 of each alcohol package and 2 soda packages with tax and fees the 4 packages came to just over $1300.00. If you are young or young at heart and looking to have fun be pampered and relax this is NOT the cruise for you. Note this ship does not have stabilizers so it does rock the entire time your at sea some days worse than others it depends on the sea that day.

Ship tip
If you have not booked this cruise yet don't.. I spoke with other passengers who cruised on this ship within the past 2 years and they told me it was not the same ship it was when they last sailed on it and they were very disappointed in the decline of cleanliness and services on the ship.

I just went on a Caribbean cruise on the Summit in February and it was fantastic. We had excellent food and awesome service. The staff was hard working and aimed to please me and my fellow travelers. The ship was a little older but was well kempt. I would recommend the Summit to anyone. And no I'm not over 65 and senior citizen like.
