Review summary
I have been to Bermuda twice before this cruise. The Summit was so called refurbished a few years ago, but really needs to be updated again. The crew couldn't do enough for you. They were so energetic and really did everything to make your cruise a wonderful experience. We got lucky with the weather. It was beautiful, but very hot and humid. The week before, was a storm along the east coast and the ship had to be diverted to the Bahamas and never went to Bermuda. I like the sea days where you can really relax and do nothing but veg out.
Being a veteran cruiser, I can see a lot a amentities have stopped. No more midnight buffets, no more butlered hor'devores at night. The food has taken a down hill slide. No more chocolate on pillow at night. The economy is bad and I guess they need to save money.
Had some complaints with Celebrity about some special needs we needed for my traveling partner. Was assured everything would be taken care of when we arrived. NOT! I am a member of Captain's Club. They tried to fix everything, but could not, so they offered us a free dinner in one of their specialty restaurants. Food was good--better than diningroom, but service was bad--most likely because the dinner was gratis. We tipped the waiter anyway. I would not spend my money in the specialty restaurants--too expensive and bad service. Go to main diningroom, where food is not as good, but service is great.
Spend most of time on the Wharf. The museum is a must see if you like history. The economy in Bermuda is just as bad as here, maybe worse. They said if you want to buy things to take home, go to the Bermuda craft market, where everything is made by Bermudians. Not cheap, but more reasonable than the stores. The artisans' things were beautiful.
Our deal from you included pre-paid gratuities. Still waiting for the credit on my credit card. If I do not see it soon, I will be contacting to see where it is. That ws a dissapointment on your part.
After all is said and done, I had fun. Oh, another must. Buy the drink package before you go. It may seem like a lot of money, but if you want soda, water, fresh squeezed orange juice, specialty coffees, and alcoholic drinks, just pay upfront and not be worried about the bill they push under your door at end of cruise. I am not a big alcoholic drinker, but enjoyed champagne every night, and loved the coffees. I know I did not use all of the money I paid for the card, but came close to it. The cruise ships get you with anything you want to drink. They supply a glass of water and maybe lemonade. But the rest is on you.
Just go with the idea of making your own fun and relaxation. As I said before, the cruise industry has changed. Enjoy yourself, and forget the nice things that cruise ships did in the past.

Buffet was okay, but layout could use some fixing. Stores could have had more inventory.
