Review summary

A great cruise on Celebrity Silhouette. We have been on 37 cruises, the last nine on Celebrity. We find Celebrity to be superior to Royal Caribbean for our age group. We sailed on RC for 20+ cruises. My wife and I are both a young 70 and we enjoy traveling with our contemporaries. On this cruise we saw ONLY 3 children (around 10 years old) and we felt bad for them. Very few, if any, teens. If you’re cruising with kids and are looking for activities for them, you’re better off to choose a Royal Caribbean mega ship.

The MDR was good, not great. Service was good, but the food was hit or miss. The specialty restaurants were very good. Be aware that there was at least one specialty restaurant outside the Oceanview Cafe each day selling a specialty restaurant at a 30% discount. There was plenty of availability in the restaurants.

Onboard Activities

There are plenty of activities if that’s what you are looking for. My wife and I were looking to relax. We sat by the pool, enjoyed dinner and went to the late show every night.

For the most part, the shows were excellent.

Ship Quality

Ship was just refurbished in January. Everything was in ship shape. There was one broken chair at the martini bar.
