Review summary

Ship needs updating. Food menu needs more variety. Ship needs more elevators and public restrooms, and menus at the bars to inform you what they can make at that particular bar and the cost of those drinks are completely missing. Linens, mattresses, carpet, floor under carpet in cabin (popping noises in a couple of places as you walk across floor) and climate control within the cabins all need work. After the first 4 days or so we were so tired of the same food. In addition, there isn't much to choose from on the room service menu without paying $$$$$. We're sure they do this so you will pay those big bucks for the speciality restaurants -- which are all incredibly expensive. And there are a LOT of speciality restaurants to choose from. You've already paid for your meals, you shouldn't have to pay more. Their drinks, even the nasty tasting bottled water, are incredibly expensive. In addition, frozen cocktails are not made properly. They are very consistently made incorrectly so it's obvious they are taught to make them incorrectly. We've cruised with Holland America, Norwegian and Carnival in the past and wanted to try a luxury line. Holland America is more luxury than Celebrity, at least the Silhouette. This was our least favorite cruise ship.

Ship tip

The smallest balconies we've ever seen or have. The same food for breakfast, same food for lunch and same food for dinner each and every day. Never changes. Ship needs to go into refurb NOW!

No, there were no menus at any of the bars during our November, 2018 cruise. We asked at each and every bar. We had drink packages so we wanted to try something. Not being big drinkers we really didn't know what to ask for, or what was included in our package. We have tried Carnival twice (didn't care for all the drunks & the children running around without supervision); we tried Norwegian once (about the same though not quite as bad, & like Carnival they nickel & dime you to death); and have with stayed with Holland America ever since until trying Celebrity. Carnival, Norwegian & Holland America ALL had MUCH better food, & more comfortable beds in nicer cabins with larger balconies at cheaper prices than that of our Silhouette experience. Celebrity is supposed to be a luxury line but we saw nothing & experienced nothing luxury about it on our 12-night cruise. We're going to stick with Holland America but are still wanting to try Oceania & Viking.

We did the Russian cruise last June ant it was fabulous. The ship is lovely, the food great and lots of variety. Fantastic Pitza station and they made my husband gluten free whenever he wanted. Loved the bars and there was drinks menus available, try the Martina bar and sky lounge. All staff outstanding and helpful. You will love this cruise!

Just got off the cruise. I have to agree, the food was repetitive. We have never been on a cruise that had the exact same menu for breakfast and lunch every day. Good try on the last day,but thanks, no thanks . We understand food is subjective, but both our reflection and equinox cruises ,made the silhouette dinner menu and execution look like a country buffet. The rest was as expected. No problem at all.

Linda, been on the Equinox 2x, and the Eclipse 2x, both solstice class ships. This ship is somewhat newer. No worries. Entertainment not my first choice but very nice ships, good food, even the free stuff, and excellent service, we are booked on the silhooutte this February, and the Reflection next February. No worries!

Linda1918, we’ve been on many cruises and have seen bad reviews of the same ship we loved and had a wonderful time on. Don’t worry, look forward to a wonderful cruise. We’ll be on it for a Baltic cruise too and can’t wait!

So I suggest that since everything is so incredibly expensive you try carnival everything is incredibly cheap since this is what you seem to like

This was the first cruise ship I was ever on and a minor tweak her or there but it was a fabulous week with none of said “issues”!

Odd I'm on the same ship right now. My temp control in my room works great. Bed is comfortable. Food was outstanding with a good variety. All ships have speciality venues and they all cost more so that is not a valid compalint. No more than a 2 min wait for any elevator Humm. There are drink menus at the bars so. It sure about that one either. Have we had some small hiccups. Yes but they are to be expected with this many on here.
