Review summary

No laundry facilities - are you kidding me? The only laundry option is sending to the ship cleaner with socks starting at $3/pair. We travel a lot and packed for 5 days plus two sets of nice evening clothes figuring we'd do laundry twice since this is a 12 day cruise and would pay $3 to $4 per load (wash and dry). We were shocked and appalled to learn Celebrity does not have laundry facilities on its ships. We've cruised with other lines other lines and they all have laundry facilities so it never dawned on us to ask the question. The cost to have our clothes washed was absolutely ridiculous as each load came to almost $100.

Ship tip

Travel heavy and inconveniently and pay the airlines bag fees or travel like most people and pay Celebrity an obnoxiously insane amount to have clean laundry.

Princess and Carnival are the only mainstream cruise lines that have laundry facilities.

Carnival has self laundry areas. Washers, dryers and irons.

I have not been on a cruise ship yet that has a do it yourself laundry area!

we've done 10 day cruises with Celebrity. we pack things that can easily be washed in the sink and dry quickly. it's really not a big deal to me. I guess it's a personal cruise style thing.

We leave in 33 days. Can't wait!! We are Diamond members when we finish this cruise. We are fancy people on this one, going Grande suite. I am sooooo excited!!

That's why it's always best to double check before you leave. We usually bring a 3 oz bottle with liquid detergent as well. And loyalty does have it's rewards.

I love the laundry option! $35. And I'm bringing clean laundry home. We sent our laundry out on Princess also. Who wants to fly home & do laundry right away?

Katievp    7 years ago

So does Carnival. They also do stuff the bag full special too and once you make your way far enough up the rewards ladder you actually get free laundry.

RCCL ships have a retractable clothes line in the tub area. Tubs are Jr Suite and above.

For smalls/swimware I use travel wash, wash in the sink and take a small clothes line.

who on earth wants to do laundry on vacation!?!?

Magicsneakers    7 years ago

Wow. We went on RC in June and in the middle of cruise we had our clothes washed and they gave us a bag and said to fill it as much as possible and it came back folded and only cost 35.00. Well worth it cause we had a week road trip after getting off the ship so didn't have to find a place to do laundry on the road. It was great!
