Review summary

Easy embarkation. Staff was uniformly courteous.I suggest the name tags have larger letters so we can more easily call the staff by name. Entertainment was good, but not Wow! Cruise director was very hard working, but found humor in criticism of his Activities Director - no room for this in today's world. High praise for fitness center, serenity deck and aqua solarium food court - all made the trip so much more enjoyable. Guest relations was very accommodating and saved us big money by advising DIY places to go on the islands rather than the available excursions. Room was quite small - we were in a deluxe veranda - and the bathroom may be a challenge for big people. Food was good in Oceanview and Grand Cuvee, specialty restaurants were very good but annoyingly pricey - $40 + per. I fail to understand why specialty coffee drinks are not free in all dining places. Also, in this day and age of internet, a $100 p charge for wireless is outrageous and objectionable. On positive note, these features were well thought out and added to the measure of the cruise - cold towels available when reboarding, Martini Bar was fun and bartenders bartenders gifted. Captain and senior staff were readily accessible. Overall, cruise was enjoyable but with some common sensical changes, the experience could be exceptional.

Ship tip

Use guest relations recommendations rather than excursions to save big money and be on your own. Martini Bar is central party place on ship, even if you do not drink martinis. Bring your own water bottles to save on costs of staying hydrated. Fitness center is outstanding, get there early.
