Review summary

Despite a few bumps in the road, it was great to be back on board the Celebrity Reflection. It had been 809 days since we last sailed and stepping on board the ship felt amazing.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation was seamless, well organized and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The overall food quality on board the Reflection was good, but lacked variety. The Oceanview café offered a good selection of food, however, the number of menu options in the OPUS dinning room was somewhat limited, compared to when we last sailed on board the Reflection in 2020. The consistency of the food and beverages throughout the ship was lacking at times, and it was unclear if this was due to staff being stretched to thin or was simply due to a lack of provisions.

Opus (Main) Dining Room

4 out of 5

The OPUS dinning room was good, but did lack variety and consistency at times. The dinning experience changed since we were last on board in January of 2020.

Mast Grill

4 out of 5

Want a great burger, fries and a cold beverage, this is the place to visit.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are a variety of activities on board the vessel for various ages. The ship offers an amazing and modern fitness center, running track, games room, adults only solarium, activity pool, hot tubs and several areas throughout the ship.

Fortune's Casino

5 out of 5

The casino is non-smoking and the machines were cleaned frequently by staff.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment is headed up by Cruise Director Shawna, who does an incredible job overseeing daily activities, stage shows and nightly events, including silent discos, deck parties and game shows. There was a total of three production shows in the main theatre during our 9 day cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As always staff on board the ship go above beyond to make your cruise experience exceptional, but we got the impression that staff were stretched thin at times, and despite putting on a smiling face, were simply exhausted.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Despite the ship being 10 years old, common areas are spotless and look like they are brand new. The furniture in the rooms are starting to see signs of wear and will certainly be in need of replacement when the ship goes into dry dock in 2023.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was well appointed and spacious. The balcony cabin was located midship and offered limited privacy. The cabin was kept spotless by our cabin attendant for the duration of our cruise.

Ship tip

Did you know that the Celebrity Reflection offers a secret hideaway for you to get away from it all and simply sit back and enjoy quiet time by yourself? The hideaway is accessible on decks 7 and 8 midship.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
The local port area is clean, modern and offers free access to a large pool, lounge chairs and umbrellas, all free of charge.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
We were docked at the new port, which was a bit of a distance from the city center, so a cab is required to get into town.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
The island offers 365 different beaches, so we opted to take a taxi to a local beach on the Caribbean side of the island. If turquoise waters and powder white sands are on your bucket list, Antigua is certainly the place for you.

Roseau, Dominica

4 out of 5
We were restricted to the local port area, unless you booked a tour on board the ship or shore side. There were several local merchants selling a variety of merchandise in the shopping area within the port area at the end of the pier.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
St. Kitts is always a blast to visit, this time we opted to stay within the port area and do some shopping and stay hydrated with some local beer at one of the local restaurants.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation was somewhat challenging, a few members of our travelling party had mobility issues and were required to use a wheelchair to disembark the vessel. Although well organized, many of those requiring assistance were among the last to leave the ship, due to a lack of wheelchairs and staff to assist them off the ship and bring them into the cruise terminal.

Nice review. Great summary. Interesting observation on the food and dining area. I've seen the same thing on 2 RCL cruises I've been on since the shutdown. Guessing its a combination of supply chain issues and also cost reduction. Smaller variety of items due to higher costs.
