Review summary

Although there could be things that are better on all ships, (as related above) but for the most part it is my favorite ship. We took a transatlantic on this ship a few years ago and loved it. The upper deck has a sail away bar with grass and bocci near it. The smoking section was moved to the back of the ship instead of going thru smoke to get to the back of the ship. Great idea! There are just under 3,000 passenger capacity but you would never know it. Seeing that my review here (3.5) includes the ports of call, As far as the cruiseline and ship; it should be more like a 4.5!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our time to embark was 11:30-12. Celebrity is super careful to make sure the embarking pasengers are clear of the virus. Pre-testing and showing proof with questions asked.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had the premium package and well worth it; with water, cocktails and wine whenever we wanted.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were lots of games and activities. All while keeping distances. Fitness room was good but some of the equipment was not operable for some reason. No one was around to assist! Hummm?

Entertainment

3 out of 5
There was a great comedian on the first night. When we see the ship's entertainment staff we stay away. Alway too loud for our liking. All the cruise lines are the same way. Hello! Loud does not mean good. The piped in music could have been more age appropriate too. Hello 65+ on board mostly. 50/50 but look at your audience! All the cruise lines are the same in that respect too.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great service and staff. More crew than passengers 900+ vs 800+ It was awesome

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship has public areas that are quiet (Hideaway, game room and library etc) where one can read or get acquainted with others in a pleasant atmosphere. Coffee/tea is at the hideaway for everyone's pleasure.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Sunset cabin. Lots of space when exiting the cabin. Bed on far veranda left side. I don't really care for the bins on top of the bed. Why anyone thought that that was a good idea is beyond me. Is one supposed to climb on the bed in order to get their clothes? Other than that, closet space was sufficient but only 3 drawers. Bathroom had enough shelves for personal items.

Ship tip

The Sky bar is huge and a great place to have a cocktail and play games or read a book when activities are not going on.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
Embarked at Ft Lauderdale. I prefer Miami. We do not travel around Florida because it is not a State I feel safe in. Too many nuts on the roads.

Bimini, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Just another Caribbean Island. Seen one - seen them all. Pretty beaches though. The town was a taxi ride away. Nothing really just off the pier.

Nassau, Bahamas

Never liked this island. We stay on the ship.

Cozumel, Mexico

Although the shops are within walking distance - too many Hawkers outside the stores that are a bother. Great to buy Vanilla extract there though!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 ships in port that day. One of them was Allure of the Seas. It was so crowded that you couldn't sneeze without hitting someone. I would never go ashore again there. The town was a taxi away after going thru hawkers to get to any street.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy and got off at 8 a.m. We are Elite and we are treated with great perks. No hassles with some of the crew bidding us thanks and farewell.

Traveler Photos

2 chares and table. Lots of room on the veranda Two chairs that have moveable back. Queen couch on the left as you walk into the cabin View aft while in Bimini Bathroom on the right in this picture with closet facing the couch. Sunset cabin aft view

Thanks for the review. Sounds like you need a different itinerary since you didn’t enjoy any of the ports. Maybe Alaska, the Mediterranean or Northern Europe would be a better option next time.
