Review summary

We are not hard to please at all. Upgraded to a Sky Suite this time and really enjoyed it. My feelings could change before the next cruise but for now I think the additional expense above a concierge or Aqua class room does not pencil out. Luminae was nice, but not much better than BLU. The service in Michael's Club was poor. We found ourselves at the martini bar in most cases. If we were on a non-port heavy cruise a suite would be terrific. But, we are active and don't spend much time in the room anyways...so, unless the suite is a super deal...I see us doing Aqua or concierge class and utilizing the savings for excursions. Well done Celebrity! We had a sub par experience a year ago...You have earned our trust again!

Luminae was very good, not excellent...but nice! decor and service are good... Food is a definite step up from the MDR but not much different than BLU. The first few nights were very crowded and then it eased up as many of the guests filtered to other restaurants.

Entertainment

The comedian was great...the singing and dancing shows with the ship cast are just OK. Not much better than a High School musical. The Illusionist could not complete his act...he ran off the stage when he could not levitate his assistant. The music around the ship and in the main foyer was very good.

Went on the "Behind the Scenes" tour. The bridge is interesting to see. The kitchen and other areas spotless. This was 2 hours well worth it.

Upgraded to Sky Suite this time. The room was twice the size of a typical balcony room. The balcony was really nice, wrapped around the corner of the ship for a massive ocean view. So much storage in these Sky Suites that everything had its place, no mess. Had excellent breakfast from an expanded menu, served by the butler each morning. He even picked up the espresso that we wanted.

Ship tip

You really can't go wrong with celebrity. This is our 6th celebrity cruise and we have not had a bad experience yet. This is the first time we have booked excursions through the ship. We found that it removes the fear of making sure you are back on time and the operators try harder because they want to be connected to these ship excursions and get good reviews. I know it costs a few more bucks to do it this way, but on vacation...who wants to worry?

This port is really not ready for visitors. I am sure within 6 months it may be, but for now. stay on board. I hope this stop was in an effort to aid the island.

The luggage concierge is awesome. Never saw the bags again until we got back home. Great service. No hunting for your bags right off the ship. They go straight to the plane from your stateroom door.
