Review summary

This itinerary was great--to see places I had never been before.  Booking through was easy and efficient.  Check-in was amazing--no long lines to wait in, even though there were possibly 3,000 passengers.  Dining, of course, was good, and the buffet had a large variety of foods.  Excursions through the ship are expensive, but the guides are good, and of course we felt safe.  All of the ports were interesting.

Larger window than I expected, a great view. The bed was comfortable, and the room was as shown on the website. Nicer than an inside cabin.

Ship tip

The buffet is great, and so is the main dining (where we only ate our evening meals). Service, of course, is great. This is a newer ship with lots to explore.

There is a shuttle from the ship to the city. From there, one can take a bus (2 Euros) to the train station. Budget Rental Car is close by the port entrance, and Hertz is by the train station.,

It really does look just like the typical photos of white buildings up the hills with a few blue domes and some windmills.

Interesting to see where St. Paul preached.

We took the ship excursion to Pompeii, which I am sure is on the to-do list for many people. It was very interesting to walk among the ruins, although we could have used a bit more time there.
