Beautiful spotlessly clean ship, lots to do, crew was so friendly

Sail Date: April 27, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

We were a little nervous going on a ship that held 3,000 passengers, thinking that the service and food would not be great.  Nothing was further from the truth.  Our room was big, especially the bathroom.  The food was excellent.  The crew were so friendly, always said hello when you passed them.  The entertainment was pretty good.  The ports of call were great, our highlight was Ephesus which is a must-see.  My only complaint is that there was so much nickel and diming on the cruise.  You had to buy bottled water for 5 Euros when you could get it onshore for 1 Euro.  The premier restaurants charged extra, it was worth it.  But the lunch places, gourmet coffee bar, and gelatto stand charging extra too???  I also felt that the 18% gratuity on drink orders was a bit steep.  Then there's the complaint on every cruise about the exorbitant prices for the internet, no exception on this one. The food in the buffet was more than adequate and delicious.  Lots of seating in the buffet dining room which was nice.  The coffee was delicious in the buffet, too.  This was my first Celebrity cruise and I will definitely book again.

Ship Quality
exceptionally clean, great food, friendly staff
Food and Dining

Sujith, Mirgina, Adi,
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Cabin / Stateroom
Larger than average bathroom. Veranda smaller than other sky suites because it's on the corner of the back of the ship. But we enjoyed being so far away from the noise in the front of the ship.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
One hour away from Rome. Can be expensive getting there. Recommend www.civitavecchiatransferlimo.com
Santorini, Greece
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
take guided tour of the Ephesus ruins
Istanbul, Turkey
Go to Topkai Palace when it opens, and run to the cafe and enjoy a coffee overlooking the bay.
Mykonos, Greece
Another Greek white city. Good for walking around and calamari
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Don't miss the Acropolis museum. Take public transportation, it's easy.
Naples, Italy
Nothing special unless you book an excursion to Capri or the coast.

Happy Hour at the Passport Bar every day. Never saw this advertised.
