Review summary

Celebrity does a lot of things well and offers a premium cruise experience. Great food, great service, friendly staff. This was our first cruise on a ship of this class, it was launched in 2000 but recently renovated and "revolutionised." It was nice, clean, and kept up. However, you can tell that it was state-of-the-art 20 years ago. The cabins are smaller compared to later ships. The public areas are a bit darker and smaller and cut-up. We prefer the Edge or Solstice class ships, but would gladly pick the Millennium again if the itinerary and price were right.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and painless.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No complaints at all, wonderful food. Some taste combinations I would never have dreamed of (Luminae).

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The ship was only at about 25% capacity so there was no problem doing what you wanted to do at the time you wanted to do it.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Live music was wonderful. Guest performers also great. The Celebrity production shows were some of the best I've seen from Celebrity: Usually they try to be too "artsy" but this time there was lots of music that people knew.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and accommodating. And remember, they're not allowed to get off the ship yet! I think I would be in a mood... Bring a little patience – they still have a LOT of training going on.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Recently refurbished and clean, but you can tell that it was state-of-the-art 20 years ago. The areas that they did big makeovers on (e.g. MDR) turned out nicely.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfortable, well appointed... but small for a "suite." Only slightly bigger than a standard balcony room on an Edge class, for example.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Didn't get off the ship – a lot of things still closed down, and the excursions offered are "beachy" – we have beaches at home.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

1 out of 5
Wanted to do something here but didn't want to wear a mask for hours to do it. Cancelled.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We we in our car and leaving the parking structure by 0735 (self-debarkation).
