We selected this cruise based on the itinerary. We thoroughly enjoyed the Japan cities. With Shanghai as the end port, we extended our Asia trip by independently visiting Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing for another 12 days.

We're avid cruisers and this was the quickest embarkation ever! Perhaps we timed it right, but there was no waiting, and all staff members were efficient, friendly, and professional.

We had a drink package included in our reservation, so no additional charges. The dining room food was more than adequate for dinner, and our servers were excellent. The buffets provided occasional quick meals when we wanted lunch or a snack after returning from port visits. We did not visit the specialty restaurants on this cruise.

We rarely participate in the activities; we're more interested in the ports of call.
