Review summary
Our experience working with was a painful one. We were first-time cruisers and we called the phone number and booked a 7-night caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Millenium. The very next day is when the hassle started: We discovered my bank account was maxed out and my account was frozen - we were charged EIGHT times the total cost of our cruise, because the staff member taking our reservation thought he had lost internet connection while putting my card number through to bill it, so he just kept trying.....!!! He also created two seperate booking ID numbers in the process, so we had not one, but two mistakes to deal with. It took an excessively long time to get our money back, and get things straightened out. And so much for their so-called "satisfaction guarantee" - i had to repeatedly call back when no one from the company was returning my calls and following up on my problem. When I finally did get a supervisor on the phone i had to plea-bargain with - and all I was finally offered was a $100 shipboard credit for mine and my husband's three-week ordeal. Our agent was also not very helpful as he gave us limited and/or wrong information about the crowd onboard, the cruise in general, and embarkation and disembarkation . Based on information from our agent, my husband booked a flight for his travel back to work. Toward the end of the cruise, the crew onboard told him his flight was way too early to be able to make it. He ended up having to catch a later flight and was charged for the change by the airline. The cruise overall was very nice but more information would have been helpful - our dinner reservations were all wrong and we would have liked to have been told we would be the only couple under 60+ on the cruise. There was a 20-30 year difference between us and the rest of the passengers. The ship, Celebrity's Millennium was very nice. Its a beautiful ship, clean, with great restaurants and wonderful entertainment. Overall it was great, but there is only one main pool on the top deck, and one smaller one, that was taken over by young children the whole time. The children's designated pool and play area was closed for our entire trip, and no one could tell us why that was. Our stateroom was always clean and the staff - from the wait service to the room attendant - were all exceptional. Our shore excursions were a blast. We would highly recommend the snorkelling tours. We did shipwreck snorkelling in St Maarten that was amazing, and a reef snorkelling and beach tour in Antigua. The Old San Juan walking tour was beautiful and very informative. And we definitely say to explore a little. We found a great restaurant off the beaten path in St. Maarten with the most delicious seafood.Ship experiences
