Review summary

Our cruise with Celebrity was as good as one could hope for in the off season. Even though the war that developed between Israel and the West Bank meant completely changing the itinerary, Celebrity managed to pull off a great trip. We would have preferred to have an extra day in Ephesus and skip Cyprus, but that was only apparent in hind sight. We would still like to visit Rhodes and the ports on the original Israel and Egypt itinerary.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Effortless and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was great and there was ample variety. Drinks were so-so and dreadfully over-priced.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center, basketball, pickleball, bean bag toss, jogging track, trivia games. Wish I had had time for the pools and sauna, and ping pong. The pickleball court and ping pong were very busy.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There was only one entertainer we didn't particularly enjoy. Everything else was great.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always smiling, friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was beautiful and well-maintained. The library was difficult to find although it was mid-ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was very comfortable. I liked the large mirrors and huge window which made the room feel bright and spacious. There was tons of underbed storage for suitcases. Would have preferred normal hangers.

Ship tip

Take advantage all the amenities on board. Have fun.

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

3 out of 5
Didn't explore the port at all. Only drove through it to get to and from Athens. Athens was crowded but many of the sights are within hiking distance of one another so people who are fit can reach them within a day. We hired a private tour and it was well worth the extra money.

Thessaloniki, Greece

4 out of 5
We walked from the port to the old town and spent the day exploring churches and shopping. Nice.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
We did the Biblical Ephesus trip and really enjoyed it. Would liked to have done some shopping in the port town after our excursion but it started pouring.

Limassol, Cyprus

2 out of 5
We did the walking tour. There really wasn't much to see. The town seemed run down and neglected although they were preparing for Carnival.

Rhodes, Greece Did not visit port

Rough seas caused us to make a detour.

HERAKLION, CRETE, GREECE

5 out of 5
Having a free shuttle to old town made it very convenient. Lots of narrow winding streets with interesting shops. The Archeological Museum was really nice.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Did self-disembarkation so we beat the rush and it was very easy.
