Review summary

Checked Antarctica off my bucket list. Was very disappointed that I didn’t get to see the king penguins. After this 59th cruise we have visited all 7 continents.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was great!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was good. Very slow service though.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I guess they were good. I wasn’t interested in none of them

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The production shows are my favorite. Dancers and singers were awesome. The presentation by Celia Granger was super informative and funny. Went to everyone of them. Dr Paxton was good also.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Some waiters weren’t as attentive as should be. Room Stewart Jonathan was great but quiet.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very well kept ship!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bathroom could use more shelves. Vanity could use some drawers. Room was adequate though.

Ship tip

There’s nothing spectacular about the ship just choose it for the itinerary.

Ports of call

Buenos Aires, Argentina

5 out of 5
We did the city highlights with airport transfer. Lengthy tour of the city. Loved the cafe, croissants and coffee we stopped to visit.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

5 out of 5
We took two excursions in this port. It was a great place to walk around in also.

Cruise Cape Horn

4 out of 5
We did a sail by only. The focal point of Cape Hirn was too far away to enjoy.

Cruise Schollart Channel, Antarctica

5 out of 5
The channel provided great wildlife viewing

Cruise Paradise Harbor, Antarctica

5 out of 5
Such a beautiful desolate place. Great weather for our day. Wished we could get closer.

Cruise Gerlache Strait

5 out of 5
I don’t remember much about this.

Cruise Elephant Island, Shetland Islands

5 out of 5
Great sail by of Elephant Island. Tons of icebergs.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

2 out of 5
All the excursions were sold out. It took 6 and a half hours to get our tender off the ship. All excursions were booked up by the time we reached the island. I wanted to see the King penguins. That didn’t happen. Was so disappointed!!

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

4 out of 5
We had to hurry to get to our excursions. No problems in the port. Still didn’t see penguins on our excursions. Finally did get to see some jumping beside the pier as we went back to the ship.

Montevideo, Uruguay

5 out of 5
Plenty of time to get to our excursions. We had an hour to walk around before our excursion. Great port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Great experience since we had the excursion booked. Had time to eat breakfast and go to the meeting place for our excursion. We were lead off the ship in a group. Shuttled to our excursion bus.

Thanks for sharing your positive review. We visited Antarctica the Infinity cruise before yours and had a great trip and fantastic service! We did book excursions in every port through the cruise ship months before our sail date and were able secure our first choice of trips and see penguins and wildlife up close.

Thanks for your review. Too bad you didn’t make it to Volunteer Point to see the King penguins. Not to be picky but did you step foot on Antarctica? If not, does it really count?
