Review summary

I’m a pretty experienced cruiser like over 40 cruises. This whole trip was weird. I am unhappy with Celebrity because the majority of issues are on their propulsion issues and their lack of accountability. I will think long and hard before another Celebrity cruise which is sad as they have been one of my favorites. Again, the food and service were excellent as was the entertainment.

Embarkation

Thank goodness my taxi driver grabbed a person to help us! This lady was fabulous she ushered us through crowds and we were luggage free and checking in within 10 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent. My only complaint was sometimes finding a bar person to order my Diet Coke was difficult.

Onboard Activities

Mickey Live was so good. He gave lots of information and was humorous and light hearted, really fun. The shows I went to were good especially Jane Curry. I went twice to silent disco. Never heard of this but what fun it was.

The waiters, stewards were great!

Ship Quality

Ship seemed clean no complaints. This ship is older and needs updating.

Ship tip

Remember Antarctica has no ports therefore when you cruise to Antarctica you are on the ship not walking around.

Ports of call

Buenos Aires, Argentina

I did a Free Walking tour, had several fabulous steaks.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

Celebrity sent a letter a week prior stating there were issues with Infinity’s propulsion and cancelled a port (we only had 4 ports now down to 3). Times and days were changed due to the propulsion issues so instead of getting to Ushuaia at 8:00am we were to get there at 2:00. The afternoon before we got there they announced we’d get there at 4:30! We did an excursion which ended at 10:15 because of docking so late. Walked town but everything was closed except a few restaurants and bars. Due to being late because of their propulsion issues this port was disappointing.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

Cancelled because of weather! Yes the weather was terrible but if we had stayed on schedule and been there the day scheduled it would have been fine but due to the propulsion issues another and major disappointment.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

Cancelled due to propulsion issues.

Montevideo, Uruguay

Had a tour which ended at the airport. It was nice but started before 8:00am ended at 1:00 at the airport. The issue is international flights are all late (mine was 9:15) so long wait plus ticket counters don’t open until 3 hours prior to the flights. Bottom line is you are stuck with your luggage in the terminal for hours with little to do because you have luggage and most restaurants and nice waiting areas are after security which you can’t do until you check your luggage! Whole Buenos Aires airport seemed very disorganized.
