Review summary
Compared to other ships I've been on, Infinity seemed new, modern and well maintained. The programming on the ship was 1st rate; the comedians, the shows, the entertainers, etc. were all outstanding. The excursions made the trip most memorable. The whale watching in Juneau was a big highlight. The wildlife excursions in Ketchikan and Sitka were very good too. The big, unexpected surprise for us was Hubbard Glacier. To say I had very low expectations for looking at ice would be an understatement. However, watching blocks of ice, the size of large buildings, fall into the water every few minutes was INCREDIBLE! Then, looking over the side of the ship and seeing seals climbing on and off the floating ice near the glaciers was amazing. Celebrity had a PhD from Yale who also happened to have worked for National Geographic speaking over the ship's public address system while the ship rotated 360 degrees in front of Hubbard Glacier. It really added perspective to what we were seeing. The food on board the Infinity was a big highlight. Service was OUTSTANDING. Every encounter with the ship's crew was positive from the waiters, to the guys who cleaned our stateroom, to the men operating the tender boats. I'm telling everyone at work this is a trip they must take.Ports of call
Pros: The beauty of Alaska is overwhelming.
Cons: That it ended! No, there was 1 rough day on the open sea, but not a big deal.
