Review summary

The Galaxy is just the right size for us. Large enough to have lots to do, and loads of room but not so large that it is overwhelming.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was fabulous - perhaps too fabulous according to my scale once I got home! Evening dinner choices had something for everyone, and were comparable to eating in a five star restaurant. Different desserts each night were too tempting to deny even once. Breakfast and lunch choices were many and just as delicious.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Broadway style shows, stand up comics and musicians made for a varied and lively entertainment schedule. Something for just about everyone.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship's staff was outstanding, from stateroom attendants to wait staff in dining rooms, to pool butlers to medical staff. They almost anticipate your needs before you could get it out of your mouth! The staff is courteous and friendly and professional.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Cleanliness was outstanding. Easy access from deck to deck. Logical layout made learning your way around pretty easy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Ocean view stateroom was more spacious than expected, and well designed for maximum storage and usability. Bathroom was quite spacious as well for a ship's cabin. Well decorated, and window was large for good ocean and port viewing. Mattress was very, very comfortable!

Ports of call

Castries, St. Lucia

We took a deep sea fishing excursion through the cruise line and were disappointed. Not by the lack of fish caught (that's just the way of fishing) but by the lack of interaction on the boat. It was more like a lovely, but expensive, boat ride due to the fact that the crew did all the work (fun). We didn't touch a fishing rod all day due to the fish not biting. They only give you the rod once a fish had been hooked by them. This was a disappointment to us as we have fished many times and hooked them ourselves, as well as a disappointment to another man on the trip who had never deep sea fished before.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Beautiful beaches, great people.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Beautiful beaches but windy. Cute town.

Willemstad, Curacao

Our favorite island on the cruise. The town is just beautiful with its many colored buildings. Very reminiscent of Amsterdam. Beautiful beaches, lovely people. We'd like to spend a week here.
Don't Miss: The town

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

My least favorite stop on this cruise. We did visit a beautiful beach, but there wasn't much to the town. Not a good shopping stop

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

A beautiful town, beautiful beaches, and the best shopping on the cruise. We took a taxi to the French side and saw how lovely the island is.
Don't Miss: Shopping

St. George's, Grenada

A very interesting island to explore. Beaches were not as great as the other islands, but still very relaxing.

Pros: Ship was as clean all the time as if it were brand new
