A really windy experience for much of our time at sea!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Somewhat chaotic this year but all-in-all we managed to get settled in earlier than we usually do.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I do not feel that the food was of the same high quality that we have previously experienced Just not up to the standards we have come to expect. The main dining room took quite some tome to complete our dinners, especially at the beginning of the cruise.
The buffet food was often just warm, not hot. Lines were long for specialty breakfast items.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The water temperature in the whirlpools was not as hot as I was expecting. The pool area had no seats available. Folks left their items on chairs for all day even if they were not in the area.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved the comedians, Illusionist and musical productions. Peter, the Activities Director, was fantastic. We enjoyed his shows in the small theater.
Children's Programs
No children with us!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our Room Steward, Wayem, was wonderful. The waiters and wine server in the main dining room were very attentive. Some of the buffet personnel were not as approachable as we have seen on past cruises.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Pleased with how clean everything was in all areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We felt that we didn't need the long sofa in our cabin. The area for getting in/out of the closet was cramped! Also...drawer space was minimal! We have liked our previous cabins much better. The balcony was larger BUT not really conducive for siting on for any period of time.
Ship tip
There are really long lines for the elevators and for the buffet. Allow extra time to get seats in the large theater. I feel we had to sit for over 30-35 minutes before each show. showYou have to allow
Not a good experience. We had to be shuttled back to the parking garage as our ship was docked in a different port than we had used when we left Ft. Lauderdale. Transporting our luggage was a hassle!.
Just an FYI, that route is always windy. We’ve done it several times. A lady had her finger broken when her lawn chair slammed shut on her hand, and they often have to close the pools. Both times we were on Royal Caribbean.
