From embarkation to Diss embarkation wonderful pleasurable trip. Was lucky enough to dine with the captain seated next to him for a special luncheon. Fabulous. Best overall food service and cleanliness. Disappointments included nightly entertainment. Not much in the way of guest involvement for fun activities. Cruise director worst at sea. Music and venues catered to Latin music. No steel band by the pool.Paul was beautiful not too crowded however we stayed mostly at the retreat area which was completely empty. We love sailing in this suites. The butler room steward waitstaff Concierge and officers exceeded our expectations as well as the exceptional food onboard.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food on the ship is the best at sea . I’ve been on Norwegian well Royal Caribbean and Carnival previously. With 54 previous sailings however, non could even begin to compare with the culinary excellence of this ship. However, the bars were a bit of a disappointment for many reasons. First and formost is the only area on the ship I felt needed drastic improvement for service. Either they were way understaffed or the bartender simply refuse to acknowledge
suite class. Passengers. It appeared that
they completely ignored suitr guestsother
guests arriving after I was
standing there for quite a length of time. Notified my concierge and the wonderful incredible staff aboard the equinox made things right.

We were in a royal suite 1607. The Cabins cleanliness could not have been better it was perfect. Gene our Butler was amazing. He brought me coffee whenever I needed it took care of our laundry filled our outside Jacuzzi tub made sure we had all of the things we needed as far as water and such handled any complaints that we had. He was exceptionally professional and exceeded our expectations in every way. However they’ve recently remodeled this type of cabin. The only word I can use to describe the Decour would be IKEA. They left the dining area intact however replaced the loveseat and sofa with a super hard super uncomfortable sectional style couch. On the veranda they have replaced the super comfortable couch like option with really uncomfortable chairs with foot stools. Uncomfortable chairs on the table area. The new bedding is far from comfortable by any means. They are two beds pushed together and we had to ask our cabin steward to put a topper on the bed which helped however not what you would expect from a room of this quality and expense. Overall the room was just plain 0K. The bathroom vanity although it was a double sink, had no space to put any kind of bathroom amenities and did not have a place to plug in your electrical appliances. The bedroom was tight and the vanity was small.
Ship tip
Do not expect tons of wild fun type entertainment in the evenings. Do expect excellence in culinary delights. Leave the children at home. The ship is not at all suited for children. Absolutely book la petite chef he will not be disappointed.
We have been to Cozumel many times. It never disappoints. This year I was worried about the Sargasso Sea weed. Chankanob State park was the perfect place to go. We really enjoyed our day there. Free see lion show. Awesome snorkeling without a doubt. Very affordable. Close to port. Optional manatee or dolphin experience. Highly highly recommend. All ages.
We absolutely love Costa Maya. We went to the national beach club. We were not disappointed. Very relaxed plenty of space great food great service awesome owner. Pricier than most of the beach clubs however, they included a lobster lunch all you could eat all you could drink and a free massage. Very accommodating no smell of sargassum. Most of the other beach clubs are packed to the point of being on top of each other. Your fee of $110 per person also includes transportation to and from the port it is only a 10 minute taxi transfer.
We went to the beach which was not walking distance from the boat. Was somewhat picturesque however the sargassum seaweed smell was definitely in the air. We’ve been to Key West many times, and don’t really have a need for the boisterous partying type of atmosphere on Duval. It’s an OK port I would not write home about it.
