Review summary

Get a balcony room & enjoy the view, the staff & many options of entertainment & food. We loved meeting guests from all over the world. Equinox is a wonderful ship. Captain Kate was outstanding...good communication, humorous, accessible. We were shocked to see her shake hands as we left the ship. What a woman!

Overall the food was very good. It was clearly European cuisine with added ethnic menus. The staff is A+. Main dining room was always emaculate. Dessert was the weakest of the 3 courses. It seemed insulting to be charged for a skimpy, icy scoop of marginal gelato at the gelato location. We refused extra cost of speciality restaurants.

We were happily surprised at the quality of the shows, particularly the guest artists. We found the DJs music too loud. Guests were all raising voices at the martini bar in order to talk. The Equinox orchestra was outstanding...congrats.

We loved the glass/steel look. Everywhere cleanliness was excellent in common areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size of cabin was fine. Coffee table was worn & too large & in our way. Sofa was very uncomfortable. Bed was fine, but the duvet was far too warm in a cooled room. Could not sleep using it. A light blanket would have been perfect. Cabin was clean except for back of the cabin & bathroom doors. Many fingerprints. Closet door had dried liquid splash on it. We were very pleased with our cabin steward & Did not ask him to clean the doors.
