Actually this was the best part which is why I can even give this cruise a single star. We did show up later than we were expecting which is why we were able to move right through the line. Getting to this point was not easy . This was intended to be a cruise right after our marriage of two years previous, I guess one could say was our honeymoon. The reservation was made in anticipation of our names changed well we never got a chance to get that done on our travel documents so shortly before the cruise we had to have the reservation changed to our previous names. This seem to be an issue and to date we still don’t have a resolution long story short when we get to the cruise a reservation did not come through correctly we were missing all of our perks. Out at sea first day I get notified that our home had been broken into and we were wrong I had to cancel all of her credit cards and all that goes along with such scenario. Well when the ship tried to authorize the card for the drink package that I now had to purchase a decline. To make a long long long story short I got zero empathy from the guest services people at the desk zero empathy from the travel agent when I was finally able to get to a port where I could call because I couldn’t pay for the Internet because I didn’t have the credit cards. Let’s just say there is a reason why we pay what we pay to stay at the four seasons because then those people know What customer service is. I am certain that celebrity cruise lines and American airline’s cruise travel have no idea, none whatsoever what customer service is. what customer service is. I am certain that celebrity cruise lines and American airlines cruise travel have no idea, none whatsoever what customer service is Finally on the last day of the cruise was I able to get a meeting with them not the hotel director who I requested not even the second in command the guest services manager but I finally got a meeting with the second guest services manager Who looked at me blankly as if this was a story that she has heard 1000 times. I was beside myself I guess I should feel fortunate that they didn’t make me pay for a specialty dinner that was quite frankly the worst experience I won’t even bore you with the details of that.

Several passages in this post are duplicated. Are you copying from someone else. The whole thing seems weird. Perhaps you should let someone coherent write your post next time.
I think this is just BS. Why would you be travelling without your credit cards and how long does it take to have your name changed after you’re married? Also it does say right on the reservation that changes to it may result in losing some of the perks you were offered. I have a hard time believing someone would book a cruise and not have their current names on the reservation.
We love Celebrity Cruises and have found the staff awesome.
I don't get how having your home burglarized meant that you needed to cancel your cards, if you had them with you, they couldn't have been stolen. Like other comments, the blame starts with you not sorting your documents - did you say 2 years in the making? One of the warnings constantly given about making changes to bookings (even just names) is that you risk losing perks that were part of the original package. You're just deflecting blame for your own failings.
I just read a very positive review of sailing on this ship the week before yours. The great food, nice staff and cabins, as well as overall satisfaction with Equinox must have been consumed during that sailing. Oops, just read another positive review on the same sailing as yours. Hmm.
The idea that stewards "spy" is absurd!! Yes they have schedules! You probably don't have to work all morning, be on call all afternoon, then work until 9 at night, 7 days a week, for a long contract. I have had the upmost respect for ship crews since our first cruise. Their workload far outreaches that of persons in similar roles in resorts. AND... they usually do it with a smile when the passengers show a little respect. We have never had a bad crew on any of the cruise lines we have sailed.
So you believe that other cruise lines would have handled your “situation” any differently? I don’t! Some of this is self inflicted .... especially the name change issue. Next time you need to plan better.
Amen. These complaints had nothing to do with the cruise line. It was your own fault u didn't get your marital docs in order before travel and as far as the credit card stuff I'm with drgivens3!! You have a self entitled attitude so maybe u should just keep vacationing at the 4 seasons and all the other upper crust and stop cruising.
My favorite part was how you say,"long story short", in an eighteen paragraph essay. What did you expect anyone to do, take your word you would pay them later? They don't know you from Jack, so if your cards don't work, they don't work. In today's age, I'm sure they HAVE heard the same story every day. Scammers use that and other stories to use cards that don't belong to them. If who ever stole your card tried and used it, wouldn't you want them to be stopped? I know you'd be complaining about the credit card company then and how they should have blocked card isuage. So, again, what did you expect anyone to do? I hate you had a terrible experience, but it seems you expect prefferetial treatment when it suits you. We don't live in a perfect world and just because you see yourself in a light to where everyone should listen to what you say, that isn't the way anyone else is going to see it.
